My wife is having the occasional issue of her Wrangler not detecting her key fob.

I changed out the batteries in both key fobs and the issue is still occurring.

I changed out the aux battery about 4 years ago. My battery voltage reads about 13.3.
For comparison I bought my Gladiator in July 2020 and I have never had the issue and have never replaced the aux battery.

Before I go and pay someone to pull out and test the aux battery, what are the other possibilities?
Has anyone had an issue with the chip in the Key Fob wearing out.

Thanks in advance. AND before people respond that this isn't the Wrangler forum.
I have always gotten better information on this forum than on the Wrangler side.

The key has to be within a certain proximity from the push to start button.
For example, if I had the key in my pocket but open the door and try to start the jeep with my hands (one hand on the brake and the other pushing the start button), I will get the "key fob not detected" notification. However, if I sit in the vechicle, key in the same pocket, it will start.

Moral of the story, ensure the key is in proximity. Idk if the key is in her purse and the purse is in the back seat ect.

Also, is there anything she has that is RFID... RFID devices in the proximity of the key will block the signal

Mine just started doing this, too. I occasionally have to start it by pushing the button with my key fob. I need to try to change the fob battery, but I'm concerned it might be the auxilary battery after reading this post.

Had the FOB, stop/start disabled, and other issues last year - swapped the Aux battery and no more issues. Wife's GC had remote start, button start, as well as crazy display screen issues about two weeks ago - swapped the aux battery and no more issues. In the GC, the battery even tested good on two different test computers but it was the problem. Good luck resolving.

My wife has the same problem with both her BMW and the Jeep. It has something to do with all the junk she carries in her purse and the distance to the start button. Instead of trying to find the key in her purse she just puts it in her lap or sometimes the passenger seat and starts the vehicle
