Key proximity starting up radio?

Only had my JT 2 weeks so not familiar with what is what.
Today I went to grocery store, left phone connected to media outlet (I don't carry it around with me), went into store with fob in pocket.
When I came out and opened rear door to load bags, radio started playing what was last on CarPlay. Did same thing at next stop.

Is this normal when the vehicle detects fob?
When I walked away to return cart, it turned off.

Any input is appreciated.

This has happened to me as well, several times when I’m loading my son in his car seat. I thought maybe it was a software issue that’ll get addressed in a Uconnect update. It’s weird but doesn’t seem to be a big problem, at least IMHO.

When the doors are opened, it boots up the head unit. If the truck's not started within the timeout period, it turns it off. The default behavior is to start where it was when powered down, if possible. If you have proximity locks, and don't open the cab doors after touching the door handle, it will lock the doors again within about three minutes.

Thank you for that Mr Bill!!!! I knew someone could tell me how the electronics worked. Now it doesn't seem so weird.

There is an auto play setting in uConnect for USB devices/CarPlay. Make sure that is disabled.
