I took a small rubber band around it but didn't like the look or feel. So instead I put the band beside the key and interference fit closed it . Now the key won't pop open unless I push the button and lightly pull the edge of the key. Hasn't accidentally popped open once in over a year and can't be seen.

I think you'll like it. Putting it together is a major PITA. But once you get it, it’s a really really nice product. In my opinion, it is way way nicer than another well-known brand here on the Forum. This one as she looks like a proper professionally made product, and not sending that came out of a cheap ass 3-D printer.

And making it match is the best part!

More importantly, where’d you get that hood decal?! ?

My AJT Design fob case arrived.
Had a devil of a time getting the case closed.
You just have to hold your mouth right.
It works great and I'm very pleased with it.

This instructional video shows how to do it.

There is a place to keep the key in the back of the fob
but I prefer to have my key separate from the fob
and am keeping it on my key ring.

Do the AJT fobs become a problem if you ever need to lock/unlock storage areas? Does carrying the key separate but attached to the fob take up as much or more space than the standard fob, or cause problems putting it in/taking it out of pockets (if it hangs at an angle)? I've heard people say the standard flip key can pop out while in your pocket but I've never had that happen.
If you store the key in the fob, can you get enough grip on it to unlock/lock the storage areas or the doors?

My preference is to separate the key from the fob.
The fob is carried loose in my pocket.
The key is on the key ring.

The rationale is this:
The backseat, center console
and glove compartment can be key locked.
When leaving the Gladiator with a mechanic for service
or in a parking lot that has to keep your fob to shuffle cars
or when turning it over to a valet,
they get the fob.
You keep the key.

There may be things locked in there
one wants to remain locked in there.

And it also takes care of the awkward situation
when one locks the Gladiator with the fob in it.
The key is in your pocket. Problem solved.

With the key on a key ring
there is plenty of leverage to turn the key.

Carried thusly, there is no need for a key sleeve.
This technique can of course be used
with the original fob by simply removing the key.

Fob I use is small about 30% and you don't feel like your carrying a brick in your pocket.
go to Freedom.com to see selections and colors.
