One of, if not my top complaint. WHY is there not a sensor on the tailgate?? Hands full means I need to go up to tag one of my two front doors or fumble out the large fob out of my pocket to get into the bed. Mega miss on Jeep and I was fully expecting to have it when I spec’d mine with the option.
So if your hands are full, how were you planning on opening the tailgate if it was unlocked???
Sounds like you need a mini van with a powered lift hatch that you wave your foot under the bumper to open.......

It’s easy enough to raise a pinky up and grab the tailgate handle.

I realize it’s a lazy complaint, but the reason I ordered this option was to make things easier. My wife drives it often. It has become a top complaint as I am reminded each time I grab the tailgate handle that what should have been there in the first place is not. This feature is standard on a lot of much lower priced vehicles and it’s as expected. I had to pay extra for it and it works halfway. THAT’S my frustration.

Another solution is to never back in to where you are loading. That way as you walk by the doors headed to the tailgate your pinky can touch the door handle
to unlock the tailgate. : ).

Sorry but not sorry...

I just lift stuff over the side of the bed, set it down and go about my business. Thats why I got a truck, sometimes I just toss it in from the drivers seat. In the summer I throw it back where the removed rear window would be.

Yes, that, but a sensor would have been nifty too.

I use a shopping cart, unlock the truck, unload the 40 pound boxes of cat litter, 20 pound bags of cat food, 6 one gallon jugs of distilled water for my plating processes, bags and boxes of wild bird food and other stuff into the truck.
Small stuff goes into the cab anyway, like it would with the WJ or my wife's Grand Cherokee.

I'd say to just unlock it with your phone but I opened the Uconnect app 2 days ago and the app still says "loading" :CWL::CWL:
Can you use the functions from the mopar.com website? Feel free to follow up in a PM so we can get this sorted for you.

At least his aim was on point!
I love how he was smart enough to get the giant stump perfectly into the bed, but not smart enough to think about what a couple tons of wood impacting his truck might do. This is why there are Darwin awards.
