I am curious - was the axle seal leaking BEFORE the regear? Or are you saying it was discovered then?
The way some are writing it out it's as if "I had it regeared and now the axle seal is leaking".
So that is why I wonder - what came first? The leak or the regear?
yes i should have clarified that part.

Before the re-gear absolutely no leak....i have a 21 delivered October 2020

I think when they re-installed the axle the seal either wasn't right on or got damaged not sure. I guess when the Dana's come in and i take it apart i can see.....so far its a small leak I'm keeping an eye on it

Yep. I was an Ordnance Vehicle Maintenance Officer (WO1) in the Marines after spending time as a tracked vehicle mechanic (Sergeant). There were some huge torque values on Amtracs. I learned that PM can save your life. I saw that in action in Vietnam. You don't want a tractor to die when you're taking fire. I became known as "PM Shackman" although they didn't say that to my face. I had that CJ-5 for 15 years and never had a breakdown. It got me through grad school traveling all over the Southwest and northwest Mexico. Stuck a few times, but never broke down. Using the GI Bill I left maintenance and went into geology, but I still adhere to the PM mantra: "Do it now, or pay later".
You want PM's. Go to work in a power plant.

Got the axle seal leak. Someone got the cliff notes? 102 pages of kinda daunting haha
Dealer will need to order parts. Expect 60 days minimum. Customer care is worthless. Continue driving it.

Pretty much typical of many brands and parts in the industry. Shortages. supply chain, delivery. Not a dealer or Jeep issue.

Customer care is worthless.
Is that because they didn't expedite the parts to you?

Sometimes they can find something and get it shipped over, but the normal is that if the regional depot doesn't have it, the dealership waits. They have 20 other customers and vehicles waiting for parts (when I last talked to service at the closest dealership to me, they had 30 vehicles waiting for parts)

As long as they filled it properly it would be ok to drive it with a small leak.
Pretty easy to have a seal leak when the assembly is slid out and then put back in if not totally anal about how it gets put back.

Because they never respond. Emails, calls, and PMs to them for over a month - and not once has anyone reached back out other than to apologize and say a case manager will get back in 24-48 hours. Maybe they meant days. But if you are going to say someone will reach out - they should. Otherwise they shouldn’t offer to help on those posts.

2021 Rubicon diesel. Right rear leak. Dropped it off to be looked at and they instantly ordered the axle shaft. It will be done tomorrow per the dealer.

I’m guessing this is a blown seal? It’s the front passenger side

Looks like it's leaking from the FAD.

His top pic is definitely an axle seal - that's the steering knuckle and the lower ball joint in the pic. Lube on the ball joint coming from the axle above.

Agreed. That's rare to have both leaks like that.

Anyone who had their axle assembly replaced at the dealership, any issues after?

Rotated tires today on '21 Mojave built 6/21 and found oil on wheels. Going in Tuesday for inspection. 26,303 miles. It happened in the last 3000 miles. Picture is after I rotated wheels.

Update 9/27 - Brought in for assessment. Indeed it needs an axle replacement. Dealer will have one in-house tomorrow. Part #: 68474264AA
