I'll be interested to see. We ordered our Sport S w/ the LED option and the Safety Group for the LED tails. I do know they removed the air dam between the fender and bumper in MY21 and went with painted fenders by default (black is an optional no cost change), so maybe that changed the turn signal lamps so there is now only two lamp styles to maintain (LED and incandescent)? Before, they'd have had to maintain the housings in both Sport incandescent and non sport incandescent, as well as the LED option for the higher trim levels. The air dam made the housing in the fender a different shape, from what I could tell at the dealership.

I didn’t see anyone answering this part of the discussion in there if I overlooked it I apologize.

So I guess the final dilemma is do I keep the order as is and sell off the fogs, markers lights and headlights to pay for what I really want or change my order and use the savings to pay for what I want. First world problems
Do you want the Safety Group with BSM? If yes, I vote get LED upgrade as I think it's an okay price for the upgrades. (maybe minus the fenders, that's ~$300 for aftermarket - tbd )

If you do not want safety - I'd opt out and upgrade later, as that would be cheaper than LED and Safety which is required.

Also you mention upgrading to "what you want" if you order the LED factory you would still upgrade? in that case yeah zero reason to pay for it in order.

Interesting, my Willys doesn't have OEM LEDs, but has the DRL system specified in the windows sticker: https://www.jeep.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=1C6JJTAM3ML539891

Also seems to be a difference of 24W vs. 26W packages?
It saying DRL system just means you have a dedicated bulb/LED that can be run during the day, can be halogen or LED.

Now, if you said your willy's with halogen headlamps and foglamps miraculously had LED fender DRLs, I'd be more confused than I already am with Jeeps' implementation of these lights.

Correct--but if the OPs doesn't specify DRL system, I doubt that they would be included in the LED package?
Fair point. I'm not really sure what would happen if someone ordered a sport or sport s (with non drl fenders so non max tow) and the LED group, I wonder if it would come with the non drl fender unit (single bulb) but be able to have the LED headlight DRL work...

I don’t really care about the safety group at all BUT the safety group is required in order to get adaptive cruise which I do want, primarily for the insurance discount but also in case the gf is driving or I keep the Jeep long enough to pass it down to my 10 y/o nephew. I’m not upest about having the backup sensors or cross traffic alert though.

What I really want are split fender LEDs and diode dynamics fogs.
The oracle headlights are better than the mopar ones but there’s advantages to both IMO
1) factory warranty on LEDs and if I own this Jeep as long as I’d like to, replacement housings will be in junkyards
2) oracle offers an RGB option but if they go out of business or stop selling them for whatever reason, finding a replacement likely next to impossible

My Sport S with Max Tow had the halogen headlights and some kind of candles for fog lights. I installed the Oracle Oculus headlights and Oracle fog lights. Wow, crazy bright! But the headlights have a laser sharp cutoff at the top so they don't blind oncoming drivers. The fog lights do a great job of adding light to the road in front of my JT. I expected I would have to flash the computer for the new, LED fog lights, but they worked perfectly out of the box with no flickering at all.

I had an issue with the first set if fog lights not fitting, but Oracle made it right and exchanged them no cost. So, if you don't get the factory LED headlights and fog lights, the Oracle lights are a good option. Check the Oracle web site for discounts. I got mine at a discount. @ORACLElights

Thats crazy they charge that much just for headlights and foglights. While the terrible halogens are still there. With my new oracle ones the marker lights look like beyond garbage. I have them disabled during the day but they still power up at night and look like trash.

Based off that second link, I'm wondering if the Willy's (not willy sport) is based off the overland then, would make sense since it's the nicer one and then it gets access to the overland's LED fenders. I'd bet it also has ambient floor lights and better seat foam like the overland too.
