if this was an overland only thing I could see this setup, but I want to be able to throw a garbage can or scooter in the back. With the leitner, I could slide the bars forward and do that, with an enclosed topper I couldn't. hmmm.

Maybe bestop soft topper will fit inside leitner, plus the decked setup. lol, so much stuff.

Yea, I'm totally with you... I think i'm going for the overland setup way more. I don't think I have use for the open pickup as much... I don't think...

and everybody on here is different and has their own thoughts on what's cool, what's affordable, ect.
The nice thing is people sharing their research and thoughts with everybody so people can borrow ideas from each other and make their dream machines come alive.

Yup! I’m loving the stuff I’m seeing other people finding. I may do the same as you with the spreadsheet. I’ve been trying to catalog everything I find.

What’s funny is, I’m sure once I have the Gladiator and I’m driving it, my design is going to change. So I’m trying to be careful what I buy before it arrives...

I did try and get a Sting Gray badge, but now I don’t think I need it, since I’m getting white... maybe I can convince my wife to trade her Jeep Grand Cherokee, she can have the white launch edition - cause she loves white and then I’ll get the sting gray

UGH, if they take the bars straight to the floor, I'M OUT, not plywood rated, well I mean it would be on the top of the rack, but I don't need to make any plywood kites in the menards parking lot. Damnit, i'm so disappointed, I liked this rack.

Perhaps I could just make a custom down tube, UGH!

So, if the JT one does go straight down, i could still modify it to the D pillar. Wonder what the fittings that crimp down onto the sheet metal are called. I've done that once on my TDI for a metal skid plate.
