Just wanted to pass along some information on an expensive lesson learned! I bought a new 2024 Gladiator. I had a 2022 and installed rock lights with no problem. Installed same lights on 2024 several months ago. While heading to a trail Saturday, an awful noise started that ended in a bang, limp mode and no start at all after letting it sit.
After paying an additional $220 to get it back home to my dealer, they dug in to find the problem. The bolts and nuts that came with Rock lights stuck up 3/4 of an inch on inner fender well.
Unknown to me, there is a main wiring harness that runs right above there on the driver’s side and the bolt had rubbed through out cover and shorted wires in harness causing starter to be engaged while driving. Starter was the noise and bang!
Because I added lights, warranty did not cover. So, $220 extra for tow and now $2700 to replace starter and repair wiring harness!!
Check your bolts! I will be going back through everything I have installed!
