I've installed a number of different lifts over the years, including Teraflex, Metalcloak, Eibach, Rock Krawler, Rubicon Express, and others. Recently I've settled on Metalcloak for having the best quality of parts, easiest installation, and best functionality. I've currently got a Metalcloak 4 1/2" lift and 40s on my JL.

We bought my wife a Mojave last year as her daily driver. It came from the dealership with a Mopar lift and 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers. It was a sharp looking Gladiator. Shortly after bringing it home I noticed something I hadn't had happen on the short test drive. The Stock Mojave shocks topped out loudly on even small speed bumps or other irregularities in the road. I was glad the dealership had left the stock Fox bypass shocks on the Mojave because they are better shocks than anything the dealership would have replaced them with. But I was puzzled that they had not added shock extension brackets to keep them from topping out even while still on pavement. Probably because they were not part of a Mopar lift and the mechanic didn't know better, or care anyway. Then I got to really looking at the "Mopar lift". I'm sorry, but the Mopar lift is the most half assed suspension lift I've ever used. The front axle was 5/8" too far to the left and the rear axle was 3/8" too far to the right. It had a definite case of the wanders while on the highway, compared to my JL, even though it had the Mopar lift lower control arms on it. And the shocks topped out.

Not the end of the world really, because all of that is easily correctable. A Metalcloak front and rear track bar, Metalcloak front lower control arms, and Teraflex shock extension brackets fixed the problem. It drives like it should now.

MetalCloak FTW

I have the MC GC 4.5 kit on my JTM. All that's left is some MC Black Sport adjustable shocks and 40s.......waiting to wear the 37x13.5s down some more, at 27k miles now......will go to 40s after I regear to 4.13s

Thanks for all of the replies.

Today - I punched the trigger on the Teraflex 2.5 spacer lift - along with the Teraflex lower control arms, and front/rear track bars - AND billstein 5100s for the rear (I had them up front after my TF 1.5 level a year or so ago).

Installation is NEXT Monday!!

Will be riding around on 33s until they wear out and I'm okay with that until thinking of going larger.

@RodRecket had an old build of his JT with a 2.5 and 33s and I thought it looked great! I even have the same wheels already on my JT.

You have chosen wisely. Do it once and do it right.

You guys waiting for tires to wear out before going up a size need more Jeeps, LOL. My wife's Mojave is on 35s now. My JL was on 37s. When I changed to 40s on my JL I didn't have to wait for the 37s to wear out. I just rolled them down to the shed behind the house to keep until I put them on my wife's Mojave. As soon as her 35s wear out I've got a set of 37s waiting and ready to go.

Wait a minute, I'm still waiting for tires to wear out. Her's instead of mine.

Never mind.

True true. But in the grand scheme of things - this will do for now. I'll just have to drive my JT more often to wear the tread down lol.
