On a more practical note. If I have any heavy hauling to do I break out my custom aluminum and galvanized steel trailer. Its 5x8 ft and though the normal one has a 2000 lb axle, I had them build mine with a 3000 lb axle.

I've hauled 3400 lbs across town in it with no trouble.

Its also great for motorcycles and quads. Much MUCH easier to load than a truck.

Mine too - can just fit a full face.

So, a bed load (with extension) is a face cord in your experience. Which would translate roughly (depending on length of cut) to 1/3 cord, right? I get a fuel wood permit from the NFS and have to record how much of my license I use for any given load. I usually put 1/4 for a full bed (no extension). Sounds like my eyeball calculation is about right.

I wish I would have taken a picture, last summer I stacked bags of mulch as high as the roof and from front to rear of the bed. Mac's Toe FTW!

Thanks, after years of using a crappy trailer (I sold my truck in 2008) I got this in about 2015. Its awesome. Its so light I can push it around the yard to pick up leaves when I'm raking.

But I can also get 1.5 tons of gravel to freshen up the driveway. And the first section of the ramp is solid, so when its up, its a box. I even filled it up with water once and made a mobile kiddie pool by putting a tarp in it.
