Thinking of a low cost table option to use with Trails Offroad (currently testing) or similar apps. Currently looking at a Galaxy A9. Additionally, holder options that would fit the tablet and with the 67 Designs rail I have if possible.

Using the maps on the phone is just a bit hard to see...

Thanks in advance!

I don't do tablets, but my Google Pixel phones have been great, and they do have tablets as well.

I think 11" is a little too big, especially in a small cockpit like the Gladiator. The a9 is 8.7". I might get that. It's about the same size as the iPad mini which works well for a lot of folks. I tried hanging my S8 plus and that 12" got in the way of everything.

Have you looked at a Lowrance HDS chart plotter (fish finder)? You can buy a first or second gen used pretty cheap…5” though huge screen sizes are offered. I‘ve seen a lot of the desert racers use them. They can flush mount in a dash or mine on my boat are on RAM mounts.

You can use Gaia (maybe Trails Offroad, can't remember) in android auto and cast to your screen. Not huge, but it is in the right spot to see it.

That's what I'm currently using. But the touch screen sucks.

It's not ideal, but I'm not setting routes when driving, just following them. I use my phone at home or camp to mark up my maps, so I don't have to do much on the truck screen.

Look at Cubot or Ulefone tablets, I know Ulefone makes mil spec tabs and are pretty cheap. They are Chinese android phones but they are cheap and work well and i don't have any gov't secrets to hide. I have been using both brands as daily phones and they have been very good at their price point.

You can also look at "back country navigator pro" app and use the https://www.openandromaps.org/en
state download as a solid offline background map.

I guess it comes to imdividual use. I tend to look at different tracks looking for trails and remote camp spots.
