So there has been a rash of Jeep thefts lately. I spoke to one car security guy and he said that he thinks the dealer can lock the ECU from ever having more keys added to it. My question is would that lock the whole ecu so no changes could be made to it with JSCAN or AlphaOBD?

Suggestion: correct your spelling from looking to locking.

Sorry I don't know about the first two programmers but
the Tazer has an option to add a pin number to lock out any starts without the pin input.

Is that a live function or one that stays if you remove the tazer?

It's with the Tazer (i.e. no Tazer = no PIN lock). I used it for a bit then ended up turning it off for 2 reasons. a) You definitely know it works since it creates a terrible grinding sound when it actuates the brakes - it does nothing damaging, I just didn't like the sound; b) all the thief needs to do is remove the Tazer and off they go.

That won't prevent the vehicle from being stolen. I don't think most dealers would do it. What happens if you lose or damage a FOB and need to add another? What about the next owner?

So what I am being told is the dealer will lock down the ECU, but if you loose the keys, you have to buy a new ecu..

That seems like a drastic and expensive option for what security it may provide. Buy one of those wheel boots like the police use. They will have to come with a tow truck to steal it.
