Just saw this video where they use a normally-open magnetic reed switch as a kill switch.

Opens up new ways to hide a kill switch for a DIY install. Hide it behind a plastic dash panel or under the center console storage lid, i.e. lid must be opened to close circuit and start the Jeep. Just more imaginative ways to potentially frustrate a thief.

EDIT: correction on the center console lid statement, that should be a normally-closed reed switch, not normally-open like for behind a dash panel.

That's thinking outside the box.

But you can avoid all of the mystery with a Tazr. Enable the anti theft PIN option and with the NoLimitz module it blocks the RF ability to clone or create new key mobs. The price for both is cheaper than your insurance deductible and nothing has to be cut or hacked.

Work smarter, not harder.

Is that a live function?

What about possible Car jacking? If the Jeep is already running it has been proven that it no longer needs the fob or any other input to continue running. The magnetic thing may be cool in the event you are told to get out. Snatch the magnetic key and the vehicle shuts off. Just a thought.

I mean if they want it that bad, well that's what insurance is for. Do you really want to get into a battle with a car jacker because you killed it getting out the door? Risk vs reward.........none of us can run faster than a bullet.

If you're that concerned, maybe you need a concealed carry permit and training with the use of force........but that legal battle will far exceed the value of your Jeep or life. My self defense case cost me at least $75k not including the waste of my time and undue stress over that year. NOTE: the courts say innocent til proven guilty.......BULLSHIT. I had a carry permit, clean record and I was the one that called 911. I won, but was all of that stress worth it in the end.......NOPE.

Nope...you're 100% correct and as for myself I already carry. Texas is a stand your ground State so the gun toting judges won't think twice about the protection of your property.

But all valid points!

Sadly, if you live in a blue state, you're fucked. Even though Maine is a constitutional carry state, the legal system is so blue they might as well be smurfs

My brother built a magnetic switch into his surf truck so he could leave the stuff in the truck without worrying about it being stolen. Of course no one would really have tried hard to steal that POS.
