How is that not a good answer? I have a hard top and do the same. It's much better in winters where we get snow and a lot of us like it better on average because of the other positives (lower noise, better insulation, etc...) rather than having the soft top. It really isn't that big of a deal taking it off and putting it on, just a few more bolts and a bit more weight. I take mine off for days at a time and freedom panels take all of about 1.5mins and can be put in the bed.
Its not that much quieter with a hard top as I had both. Unless you add a bunch of stuff like headliners, sound strips, etc the difference in noise is very minimal. Same for Insulation. I've had this thing in 115 hot to below zero and the insulation difference is not much different as well unless you adding a bunch of stuff to assist. Both tops work well. Some need the hard top and others like the flexibility of popping the top on and off in seconds.

This is a not a good answer, I can have my soft top completely removed in half that time. There are only four bolts holding on a soft top. Plus, it's easier to manhandle and find a place to safely store it.
If the soft top or hard top comes off it comes all the way off and it stays off for days. I got a garage to safely store stuff in. I have a soft top as well as a hard top, the soft top will stay in the box it came in.

I'll give you, with the insulation yes. I have my Hothead headliners and I love them, they do make quite a bit of difference :)

Let me come pick up that wretched softop from so you don't have to look at anymore and I will just keep it as a spare ;)

I got both tops with mine, but if the wife would let me sell the soft top I would or burn it, which ever.

If you can convince my wife that I won't decide I want one after I get rid of it. She said it was staying as long as the jeep was in the yard. I told her, staying in the box I guess.

Interestingly enough regarding comments on the man bun top look. Jeep folks I have talked to when out and about are usually the one's who have negative comments about it. But when others ask me about the truck for the most part other than a few the comments are that it must be great to be able to just fold the top back on and off quickly.

Never underestimate a "Jeep purist" in their natural habitat.... (forums).

From what I've gathered most people think our trucks are ugly as sin (at least from the back) and having 1 more blemish really doesn't phase them as they've already gazed into the hellmouth that is our truck. Even I admit it's not great looking from the back with the tops on, it looks unfinished and a bit dumpy.

Yep my wife thinks its kind of ugly looking but they always want to ride in it with the top down, etc. I asked her well do you think it would look better if I changed the rear taillights to the Oracle version and she thought it might look better. But to me then it just looks like any other vehicle. I like the quirky boxy

I really like the look of my body colored hardtop, but found a good deal on a new (in the box) OEM soft top. I saw the original post about the "Man-Bun" look and I definitely chuckle when I see my JT parked with the top back, but nothing compares (IMO) to being able to flip two levers and push the top back. Yes, at some point I'll spend the full 15 minutes to go completely topless - but the convenience of having the option to flip the top back and forth in less than 2 minutes is awesome! The smile on my (and my wife's) face driving around in my convertible truck way out ways the Man-Bun look, plus I can't see it from the inside.

The great part about a Jeep is that we all get to enjoy it in our own way. I wish it looked different open, but I still think this soft top is AWESOME!

That being said - I just ordered a set of the quick release thumb screws. I have a rear window bag on the way. I am interested if anyone comes up with a good way to protect the full soft top in the bed.

Sharing is caring folks! :LOL::CWL::LOL::CWL::LOL:
Do you have a link to the thumb screws? Ever find a way to protect it in the bed?

I'm just waiting for Bestop to make a Gladiator Trektop. I know it'll never happen, but I can dream.
