Its not that much quieter with a hard top as I had both. Unless you add a bunch of stuff like headliners, sound strips, etc the difference in noise is very minimal. Same for Insulation. I've had this thing in 115 hot to below zero and the insulation difference is not much different as well unless you adding a bunch of stuff to assist. Both tops work well. Some need the hard top and others like the flexibility of popping the top on and off in seconds.How is that not a good answer? I have a hard top and do the same. It's much better in winters where we get snow and a lot of us like it better on average because of the other positives (lower noise, better insulation, etc...) rather than having the soft top. It really isn't that big of a deal taking it off and putting it on, just a few more bolts and a bit more weight. I take mine off for days at a time and freedom panels take all of about 1.5mins and can be put in the bed.
