Context: I was told by Jeep Chat on 8/12 that I was in D1. Subsequent Jeep Chats, however, reported that I was in D (one even claimed I was in C). A regression that is at this point not at all surprising to any of us.

New information: Today I contacted my dealer and it was reported that I have an estimated ship date of 8/27. He then told me he would send me the POC (Priced Order Confirmation) form by which this information was based. On this form it does indeed include the date reported. Yet--YET--on this same form it reports the status as 'C - Tentative schedule'.

What in the good god hell am I to make of this? I have a ship date! This is splendid news, the best progress I have yet heard about my specific order. YET AT THE SAME TIME I HAVE A STATUS THAT SEEMINGLY CONTRADICTS THE VERY NOTION OF HAVING AN ASSOCIATED DATE OF ANY KIND! Truly, I have no idea if I should be amped or angry.

Same here. Ordered on 7 aug. My first status check was 13 aug (D1, Issued VIN and estimated ship date of 23 Aug.) Today I was told I am C status. I asked my dealer how can it be C status with a ship date in 2 days and he sent this....

chrcal14, based on Kayakmike's signature above, Troutman and I are flying on rainbow and sunshine even with the time we've put in! I've said all along that i'll wait 8-12 weeks with minimal complaining, but going backwards shortens my ability to maintain a positive outlook. I'll warn others, it's a bad idea to jump onto Cars.com and do a 250-500 mile radius search for what you want minus the M/T, that are on lots and available at this moment.

I love my manual JKU, CJ7 and Cummins, hands down. I hate the disconnect from the road with an automatic. BUT, what I don't love is the JKU's inability to pull even a two-place enclosed snowmobile trailer in 6th gear or anything larger for that matter. I'd love to be able to head up north with the two-place and the Gladiator and NOT have to run in 5th gear. I just don't see that happening, especially with 35" tires. So i'm on the fence in a constructive decision making process.

Pros of a M/T:
- I enjoy shifting
- Millennial theft deterrent
- It's cool/odd to see nowaday
- Wife can't drive it
- Better off road in my opinion/experience with the limitation of throttle on an automatic, even with TC turned off
- It's $2K cheaper (that's a fair amount of accessories)

Cons of a M/T:
- FCA doesn't seem to be able to build what I want/ordered and I'm convinced the M/T is part of that (I can go buy what I ordered with a A/T today off a lot 100 miles from me)
- Doesn't tow as much as a A/T or as nicely (from what i've read)
- Wife can't drive it
- Can't be lazy and get in and go

What else am I missing?
Yeah... the GCLE thing makes otherwise legitimate griping seem petty.

I'm still scheduled for build...

That makes no sense. I'd be thoroughly confuzzled. Only nugget of wisdom I have is that I asked about the 8-28-19 date on the screenshot I was sent, and was told that date is never right. Ugh.

Perhaps what makes less sense is that I keep expecting something to make sense at some point in this process.

It makes no sense. And then the Gladiator is at the dealership and all the frustration melts away.

I promise.

Beautiful pearl of wisdom there! The only thing I'm sure of is that I'm not sure of anything.

You're so right, it's like I keep expecting things to come back into some state of logic and normalcy. Something predictable. It's madness.

I hope you're right. I've been known to hold a grudge a looooooooong time. And I have a size 12 chip on my shoulder now over all this.

I have my "didn't start building my Jeep the week of 8-26-19" Raptor identified. Just have to do the deal and give them the $50k+ Jeep was going to get. It's on the lot, ready to be haggled over. No status codes.

But I'd rather you were right. I'd rather it goes smooth and fast now. I'd like to be as excited about this as I was a few months ago. It was fun.

I'm hanging, until Sunday September 1st. Since they said week of 8-26, I'll give it the full 7 days.

If my build status doesn't change by then, I'm going to let my wallet do the talking and buy from another manufacturer.

I can't in good conscience reward their behavior by giving them my money after that. Given the inequitable build process and more importantly the subsequent treatment by their support, it's already a stretch for me to be willing to bear it this long. The only reason I am is that date.

I love the vehicle, but if everyone just puts up with how they treat people with no consequence, it will never change. The line must be drawn here.

Wait....howd you get that screen grab?
From my salesperson. I just asked to confirm I wasn't in the Trout and Thorny shuffle and she sent it to me. Far as I know all dealers have access to that, so you could ask yours. I've seen it at other dealers as well.

Thank you. I thought it was something you had access to. Lol. My dealer is very straight forward with me, but he did send an odd message today saying that from start to finish it only takes a few hours to build one of these. I dont know if he was trying to placate me or if that's real, because they gave me a 23 aug ship date last week, and this week it's in C status.

He's probably more or less telling the truth as far as the core build. Start to finish down the line probably isn't all that long. It's getting there in the first place, going to JB for things like bedliner and headliner, and KZ waiting for shipping and the actual shipping process that take all the time. Plenty of horror stories to go around there.

So it's a little disingenuous. I'm not sure who holds the build to receive record, @bangolia comes to mind, he was E 7/25 and hit lot 8/12.
