I have a max tow sport just looking to raise front about 1 inch. I was going to use rubicon take offs 339/340 to hopefully raise front. Leaving rear max tow alone. Recently I read that the front springs on a max tow could be stiffer than regular sport and the rubicon springs are softer. My front numbers are 7801/7802. In my case is a leveling kit or a spring swap a better way to go.

Be careful what you read. The Rubicon is typically a heavier version of the JT than the sport.
The Rubicon springs under the front of my Overland are not softer than my Overland springs were - in fact the ride is a bit more firm, bumps are felt more. So I'd argue that Rubicon springs are not "softer". After all, they support a heavier truck.
Sometimes what you hear isn't what is fact. It's speculation, opinion, etc.
The range of springs used under a Rubicon are all higher numbered than those used under the Overland, etc. and normally the higher the number the "stiffer" to support more weight.

If you like your ride as it is - use spacers.
Rubicon springs MAY raise it by about 1" (not all Rubicon front springs are the same so "Rubicon springs" covers several spring numbers) maybe a bit more than 1", likely not less.
These things all articulate about the same but I think people believe the Rubicon springs are softer so that they'll articulate better. I bet my truck would articulate the same, just not the range, with the standard Overland springs.

I bought my front springs from a rubi owner w a steel front bumper… they almost leveled it. Left rear max tow springs on back.

Papa is right, totally depends on the rubi take offs you get… and I’m not sure anyone has figured out what numbers are which w JT springs…

I put a set of 340/343 springs on my max tow which had 334/335 springs, it raised it 1”

You got the heavier Rubicon springs, likely with steel bumper, etc.
The pair I used were 339 and 340 and it raised my Overland all but 1" (about 7/8" in reality)

Is the 340/343 much better than the 339/340, which are much easier to find. Also any advice on the diesel springs 6377/6378?

There is no better or worse. The higher numbers are generally a higher spring rate. Stiffer in a sense to support heavier weight. The 340/343 come from under a heavier Rubicon, the 339/340 from one likely with the plastic bumper, lighter than the Rubicon the 340/343 come from.
So under a lighter truck the higher number would likely see a higher "lift" - but also a bit stiffer than the 339/340 Rubicon springs.
So no, one set isn't better. One set is a higher rate, likely a bit stiffer, likely a bit higher lift result. How much? Depends on your truck.
Since I got almost 1" with the 339/340 under a lighter JT, they'd lift it a bit more.

Stiff. I tried them under the front of my Max Tow with a winch and Mopar steel bumper, and they were too stiff for me. Vehicle seemed to snap over bumps.

I ended up using rubicon (gas) springs in the front and kept the max tow in the rear. Gave me a nice little leveling effect.

Which Rubicon front springs? There are at least 3.

I have some I'd give away if someone wants to come and get them.

I’ll try to find the numbers. I think I have a pics of them. I no longer have that setup. I know the best ones are from Rubicons with hardtops and metal bumpers.
