I have a 20 gladiator with 3.6 v6, just wanting it loud enough to hear it run. Has anyone replaced the middle muffler, or as some call the suitcase muffler with a 2 chamber flow master type muffler? I have thought about just deleting the middle muffler completely after seeing that is what a lot of peps have done but scared it would be to loud. Thanks

I removed the suitcase and welded in a straight pipe. With the two resonators still in place, the exhaust remains quiet but has a bit more sound when I step on the gas. My plan was to try a straight pipe first and add a turbo muffler if it was too loud, but it’s not.

The Pypes high tuck I had on my JK was louder and had a drone—this setup is much better.

Keep both resonators -- I'm running B2 Fabrication Moderate muffler which replaces the OEM Big Can.. It also removed the Front Resonator and we got the 2k-2.4k Drone.. had that Front resonator put back in and No More Drone.

I did a dual chamber and a louder resonator. If i just did the suitcase it would be less drony for sure. but i have a soft top so louder is better in my case. just a dual chamber would be pretty conservative.

Totally agree with this. I removed the mid "suitcase" muffler and now the drone at highway speeds is worse than the wind noise...

You can also do a AFE Rock Basher exhaust. Cheap, and replaced the mid and rear mufflers. Minimal drone, if any, and it sounds pretty awesome when you step on it. Save weight too.

As it is stock my Sport S is actually kind of surprisingly loud as is, when at any more than 1/3rd throttle! Never mind wide open! So I can’t imagine without that huge middle muffler! Or removal of any of or all three! I have heard an aftermarket setup, but didn’t catch the name, but there were two tailpipes , one out each side in the stock placement of the single on drivers side. That had added a deeper bit of an almost rumble/burble type of sound, with an almost like stock high end wail.

I tried a couple of things to get more sound which resulted with this arrangement along with a comparison between the two mufflers. My Exhaust Comparison

Has anyone removed just the rear resonator, and how did it affect the highway noise? I do a lot of highway driving. It is a big rock catcher in my opinion as well as an eye sore.

I like the last muffler or resonator. It looks like a silencer from a dirtbike.
