If this question has posted before, please point me in the right direction. I have yet to find this specific question.

If I am changing out the stock wheels and tires on the Gladiator Rubicon, what is the minimum offset I need so I won't rub on the control arms? Currently no lift. Generally what is typical with a 2-2.5" lift kit with new control arms?

A 4.5" is required by most 3" & up lifts. That said, Rubi's have a wider axle, so they should be able to get by with a 4.75" BS. On a 2" lift, you might even be able to get by with a 5" BS.

Remember, the BS not only clears the tires and suspension under normal driving, but also at full articulation also.

I have 315/70-17 wheels (almost 35) and 8" wide wheels with +30 offset. They look perfect with no rubbing and not sticking out from the fenders. I also have a Rubicon.

I am using 1.75" on non wide axles and zero issues. So take off however much wider the Rubi axles are from the standard and you will be fine. You may be able to go smaller too but 1.75 on the standard axles makes just the right amount of poke imo

I did wheels and tires on my stock height Gladiator about 3 weeks ago. (grey)

I got home and my wife said..."I WANT THAT!!!" So a week later she got wheels and tires (Blue)

The tires are exactly the same and the tire info is ..... Falken Wildpeak M/T LT35 x 12.5 R20/E
Actual height is about 34 inches. (most 35's are actually about 34")

My wheels are Black Rhino "Shredder" 20 x 9.5 5-127 +0
Her wheels are Black Rhino "Madness" 20 x 9.5 5-127 -12

Both of these setups don't rub when the steering wheel is turned lock to lock.

Also, I purchased the fifth wheel and tire, because both have the matching wheel and tire spare underneath.... yes it fits. If you look at the spare picture you can still see her stock tires and stock spare before it got done.

I know you want 17's but with the numbers I gave you some professional could get you what you need in your desired size. I just like the look of the 20's and they still have 6 1/2 inches of sidewall.

Sorry if its a lot of pictures but I figured more info is better than not enough and pictures are at least 1000 words... right?
