M.O.R.E Hide a step.

Thinking of painting or something like this on my Hide a step....is the orange highlight paint or some kind of vinyl?

It's just enamel paint. when I first installed the step I, simply painted the edge of the step,didn't have the heart too scuff up the freshly powder coated step but, it allowed me to decide if I liked it.

Of course, that paint came off in a matter of days. Couple months later I removed the step,scuffed up the edge, and put multiple super light coats on the it and allowed to dry the full time recommendation.

Put like 4-5 super light coats on it. Try to tape off so no paint goes on the top only edge. So far, its held on really good. Wished I could have found some epoxy orange instead of enamel.
My wife (4'8") and I are in our senior years this small addition to the step helps us locate it when its dark also. When I install the 35's it will also help me

Most Mojave owners love their orange accents and look for other items to add to their rigs. Thought I would create a thread where we can put items we've found.
Enjoy.

Here's a Before/After example of where the stock black Gladiator fender vinyl just doesn't cut it. (IMO) Especially on a dark paint.

I forgot to ad some vital info. I sourced these from a vendor on FB called Sity Stickers. Mike did a great job.
Also, I've included a pict of the same decal on Hydro paint.

I put a couple Agengy6 handles on my TRUKD Molle lift panel as well as a piece of orange Kydex that I cut and bolted behind the TRUKD logo- same on the other side.

Wow…just found this thread…. I haven’t looked thru all the pages yet…… but I will (at some point). Awesome thread!!

I haven’t done much….. Gladiator emblem and custom vinyl JTM logo (I have a vinyl cutter). We have custom pin striping designed and hope to install that next spring.

On my sarge the one thing that always bugged me is how the hood emblem looks more of a black with orange trim. It doesn’t entirely match the fender liner and tailgate liner.
Me personally I didn’t care for the grey on the Mojave so when I got the tailgate emblem I chose the orange and matte black one and then asked the guys if they could either make jeep fenders match or paint them to match.

Tough to see in the picture because we had some unexpected snow and salt on the roads but cleaned up they match very closely.

Will upload pictures once I get them, but I’ve got door/hood hinges being powder coated orange. Should have them back and installed sometime in the next couple weeks.

Just going thru this thread… Did you cut the vinyl yourself? If yes….. Do you have the file for this graphic (for a vinyl cutter)? I had to ask…

On an old thread looking for ideas. I can give you one NOT to do. I got orange aluminum valve caps for my tires. All four of them should have just been basically melted onto the tires. Couldn’t move them at all. I live at the beach but I have never had my tires in saltwater. Crazy. Fortunately, I found a tire shop that replaced all four valves for $25 each.

Thanks for the warning! Just looking around, I found some orange aluminum caps that have a full plastic lining. Might be safe even in a salty MN winter!

EDIT: Orange aluminum with a full plastic liner.
