Hello Jeep Gladiator Forum...

Just about to pull the trigger on ordering a Mojave. One last little area of indecision,
The perennial question of fabric versus leather. Specifically MOJAVE premium fabric versus leather.
Historically I've been a fabric dude, but I like the look of the leather, just worry when I sit down with a screwdriver
in my back pocket....etc. I don't want to end up wanting to kill something.

In any case any thoughts appreciated, or "Wish I would have's.."
The premium fabric pattern also looks pretty good.

I also had trouble choosing as the leather will be hotter in the summer. But the cloth will stain easier, plus I just did not like the feel of it.
I opted for the leather.

Leather lasts longer for me, easy to slide in , canā€™t go back to cloth tough to slide in and out, BUT it is like $1500, so get cloth and do Katskins later for around $1000. My company lets managers pick their own trucks as long as they are Fords. A lot get cloth but the hard working bosses get leather lasts a lot longer, Iā€™ll run my
F-250 Lariat up to about 350,000 miles on original leather seats.....Jack

Thanks to you folks for the answers. Those leather interiors look pretty nice!

Sometimes Iā€™ve noticed cloth seats are also more comfortable..... not as rigid and more flexible

I really like my Mojave cloth seats! (I like the leather too) If I want to go leather in the future, some Katskins can be made up to look even better than the factory leather.
-And from experience, if you get in a truck with cloth seats with a screwdriver in your back pocket, it still tears a big ass hole thatā€™ll piss you off!

I looked hard for cloth, I disliked the leather seats in the H2. The JTR I bought had leather, and I'm fine with it - and it IS easier to keep clean than cloth.

Leather is hotter in summer and colder in winter (I do not have the cold weather package). That plus the expense, i was glad to go with the cloth seats

Is there anything besides covers that actually works real well at repelling stains and water marks????

I HAVE THE LEATHER AND PREFER THE LOOK AND NO ISSUES WITH THE SUMMER. Keep the screwdriver in your tool box.

If you use your rig hard and wish to keep the original fabric, whatever you choose, looking new, then consider installing quality seat covers. I have Escape Gear (made in South Africa) in my JK, and they are outstanding. I hear that Bartact now makes excellent seat covers for the JT, so may get a set (Escape Gear doesn't offer any for the JT, yet). Now, who cares what is under those nice seat covers?

If you don't opt for seat covers, then I would say you'll tear up the cloth seat covers pretty quickly sliding in and out of them (that's what I have). I'd give it a few years before the wear becomes quite noticeable on that left bolster. If you get leather and wish to keep your vehicle for a long period (let's say a decade or more), then you should recondition it every now and then to keep it supple and prevent drying out and cracking.

I opted for cloth because of the temps, leather would be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I am a leather guy though, they do look nicer and will probably wear better. just not as comfortable in Jeeps IMO.

I bought a cheap waterproof cover (kind of like a towel with a headrest hood off amazon) for sweat and dirty cloths, so far so good.
