Premium McKinley Trimmed Seats

OK, what am I missing?
Are they out of leather and are using McKinleys now - and how many McKinleys do they have to kill to do one Jeep interior?
Or maybe they are touting leather provided by McKinley furniture people?? (most likely)

This is what my build showed when I chose it on the web site ->

My first one was delivered as ->

So my first/current one has leather trimmed seats...........

I assume these will be the same, but they are marketing them better.

Pretty simple - ordered leather trimmed bucket seats both times - for my 2020 and for my 2022.
Both times the order sheets said leather trimmed bucket seats.

I ordered the 2022 with leather trimmed bucket seats.
The build sheet says premium McKinley seats, no mention of "leather trimmed".

So have they changed the seats?
I ordered leather trimmed
I'm getting shipped McKinley seats.

McKinley is just the leather provider. As you assumed above, I also think they just use the manufacturer name to make them sound more upscale/nicer.

That makes sense. Interesting they don't market it that way - it's still listed as leather when you order, they tell you later how good it is LOL.

At least it's a known quality leather outfit.

They could catch a lot of us older folks if they'd just call it Corinthian leather.

When I was in high school, I worked in a Chrysler dealerships body shop after school. We worked on a lot of wrecked Cordobas. I’ve sat in a lot of that Corinthian leather. They had a Super Bird on a turn table in the show room. Just about everyday, after the big wheels went home, someone would crank it up and rev the heck out of that thing. All the glass in the place would rattle. I’ll bet that engine had 100,000 miles on, but the odometer only had about 250.

Ordered my 2022 Mojave (March) with the Mopar seats and they are Katzkin. Was surprisingly shocked to see that they come stitched in orange too. Would have preferred “perforated,” but ended up with “stitched.”

My understanding is that most manufacturer's leather seats are "leather where you touch" and synthetic leather of some type everywhere else (like the back or sides of the seats). I would think Jeeps are the same especially when they write "leather-trimmed".

Very few manufacturers still have full leather seats or full leather interiors.

Yeah, that's the reality.
I did get curious about something because your last line triggered some memories...........
We've been buying Grand Cherokees since Lee Iacocca first introduced the vehicle he stole from AMC when they were raped and pillaged.
My wife likes leather seats, so that's what she always gets.
I see the new Grand Cherokee - the L, has "Leather seats" - while Gladiator, the WK platform GC, and others are listed as "leather trimmed seats".

Note the wording difference - leather seats vs. leather trimmed seats.
Today, the Grand Cherokee L has Palemro leather seats. Again, not leather trimmed.
So, if I bought based on that wording, I'd expect the GC L to have leather seats.
With the Gladiator, in the back of my mind I always assumed "trimmed" meant you didn't get a whole cow worth of leather.

So apparently, they may still be more than just leather trimmed.

The WK platform is still leather trimmed.
But then the price difference is indicative of more, also.

No, definitely not cloth. It may be a vinyl, or maybe they killed some naugas to get naugahyde, but it's not cloth/fabric.

These are either all leather, or, leather with fake leather worked in.
