wont fit. There are quite a few people that have confirmed this on here. That’s why I’m trying to get the Raingear one. It has adjustable straps to fit with just freedom panels off.
It won't fit with just the freedom tops off?

Ok - I just went out and put it on and I can clarify some misconceptions.

1. Just freedom panels removed - no issue fits fine
2. Just freedom panels and the doors removed - this would be issue as the cover will not extend all the way to the bottom of the doors (therefore the bottom 4-5" of the door area are exposed so not full coverage - probably enough in a jam).
3. With back roof and freedom panels removed - then it will extend down completely and cover the areas of doors.

So it will cover your car with freedom panels off - it will not give you full door jam coverage in that situation with doors off.

Here you go - coverage as far as fit and covering freedom panels being off fine (in situation get caught in rain this way). But you can see with the rear roof on you don't have full coverage of the doors.

and if you can't tell from my timestamps - it took a good 60 seconds to put on and 60 seconds to take off

from what I’ve heard a few times on here, that’s correct. It’ll leave an opening near the front of where the doors would be.

Great info, I assume it would be even worse over a soft top?

Its fine for me - allows me to leave freedom tops at home and not worry. I wouldnt' have the doors off without the rear roof off - so I'm fine. Even if for some random reason I did take the doors off and not the rear roof - its protected enough for a quick summer shower (won't hurt anything a little water getting in around the floorboard).

At home I garage store so no issues as far as a parking cover at home.

Great info! So it does cover just fine with doors on and whole roof off? How tight is the fit? Enough to keep bugs out? Fingers crossed

About the same honestly. Similar gap left at the bottom of the doors. Minor rain and you are fine. Heavy rainstorm and you are ripping out your front carpet like I did. Back was fine though. In a pintch it does give almost full coverage.

yep fits good then and tight. Do need to walk around the car two or three times. make sure you put a board or somethng across in the front as well. It will pull up a lot of water.

Also in case you were curious it does not really work with the windshield down. most water stay out, but not enough.

yea for me it's kind of a pain to take the entire roof off until my hois
Rain Gear Covers is taking orders now!
Jeeze, 200 bucks all in for the cover with 25 bucks in shipping. That escalated quickly. They bumped the price because it's now "Gladiator with Light Bar" by 10 bucks. They lost my business at that point. I guess I'll just buy the mopar cover for nearly 80 bucks cheaper and hope that it doesn't downpour with the back top on. It's more about the principle, but I'm also not going to pay almost double for a cover.

@cbl1 how does it strap on? under the truck?

Is Raingear only making the cover for “with light bar” now? Ugh!

I can say that it works perfectly in even the worst storms. This particular storm had high winds and hail. The only problem I had with it last year was the condensation that shows up overnight. I got around that with a small heater and a fan to circulate the air under the cover.

I picked one of them up. It’s better than no cover and give me the option to add the light bar without having to buy a cover later. It’ll just be be a little extra material until then. If I knew I would never put a light bar on, then I’d wait too.
