My wife got ducked a few days ago for the first time since we bought her JT (yes, that sounds derogatory.....and it is). She was totally gigged out by it and had a smile on her face for hours. That little green phucker is sitting right up on the dash. I could care less, but she liked it, and it's mainly her vehicle, so I'll support it. I ain't buying her a ducking duck, though.

I, as well, have seen many other makes/models of vehicles with ducks on their dashboards. Certainly isn't exclusive to Jeeps.

The grizzled Jeepers around here won't wave at me half the time even when there are no ducks on my dash... something about driving a mullet or the like. Or so one half jokingly told me once.

I see shiny Gladiators with ducks across the dash fairly often and I have to wonder did they 'earn'
them or 'acquire' them at the parts store. I've received just 4 in 5 years and two of those were
presented in person so there was a connection. I pass them on or give'em to the grandkids,
I think the original idea has gotten diluted with time. Jeep wave anyone ?

Now you can get Mopar ducks.

That rail is actually quite nice! It's solid, perfect fit. I've been using it.
More than one of us here have it and there's a couple of threads about it.
I currently have a phone mount and 2 other ball mounts on it for adding a holder for my snow plow control and for my wife's phone on the other end.

For women I guess I can understand.

I just can't buy in to adult men participating. Seems...odd.

But hey, it's your Jeep.
I've seen some mountain men looking guys with the dash lined with more than one row of ducks.
I guess it seems to interfere with the macho image some prefer to display as opposed to the fun human side of things.

So here we go on the 12th duck thread and the haters just not getting it, can't be a tough guy with a duck, eh? Afraid of losing that masculinity in having some fun?

To each their own but I absolutely detest the duck thing. I'm not putting that shit on my dash (well for the most part lol). I do have a pretty rad crochet duck that my daughter made me that gets to ride along. But he lives in the pillar grab handle. There is a Subaru in our work parking lot that has a dash covered in ducks. Saw a Bronco with ducks...

When my kids were little, they would save the ducks I got and then put them on other jeeps. They don't care anymore either.
Gee, afraid of being seen as not the toughest macho man you can present out there?

Every human is a unique individual.
How many others do you know that think like you?
I conform to my own wishes.
If I wave & another jeep driver that does NOT, I just assume that driver has other priorities at the moment.
I dealt with similar attitudes decades ago when I rode motorcycles everywhere.
Rude fools would criticize what I rode because it did not fit their notion of what a motorcycle should be.
Some of those same rude fools now drive Jeeps.

I just avoid those folks & seek better ones....................

Around here it's a mix of waves - some do, some don't. However, around Iowa, I just assume "guess they either don't know what it is, or just don't care to participate" or are not paying attention. Some just want to get home or to where they are going and be left alone. Fine. I waved, they didn't - doesn't mean anything.
No loss - around here, we wave when in our own neighborhood anyway and some still leave keys in the ignition. Different culture.

Sometimes it's just fun to have fun and not worry about that image. I find it interesting from a psychological point of view how those who do the ducks are more relaxed, they don't hate those who don't get it or don't participate while those who hate it act like it's an offense against them and demeans them in some way. Just look at the differences.

I like my ducks! It makes me smile seeing one on my door handle and each one has a story for where/how we got it. My wife bought a 20 pack of ducks on Amazon and has been ducking other jeeps!
I'm the problem.

no. OCD. Don’t want the clutter.
That's smart.
Pilots don't want loose items flying around hitting switches & causing mayhem when accumulating flight hours. Very unsafe.
I like to secure everything before hitting the road.
Unsecured items create a cleanup mess after mishaps.
Unsecured items & people get damaged also.

I'll say it. Kinda gives "pedo" vibes, doesnt it?
The love of children is a normal human instinct. It only has sexual connotations to abnormal humans.
