Similar experience right now in MI. Car idles for 5-10min and gets up to 40C oil temp (100F or so), with this cold weather out. Driving, it gets to 75C/175F fairly quickly, within 3 miles or so of open road.My Ram Ecodiesel had a much larger engine compartment and the front cover seemed to make a difference. I'm driving the JT ecodiesel and it seems to have much better heat up for some reason (no cover). I use my driveway to the gate (5 minute drive) as the comparison. Jeep is heating much faster. Just my truck to Jeep comparison. Not sure how many people actually have had both side to side.
I had other cars and none could get to temp in such short time.
