So glow plug “engine preheating wait to start” light comes on at start. Engine starts fine, I even wait for little glow plug light to go off by the water separator light on upper right corner of fuel level gaug. The I start, it starts right up, but the engine pre heater warning comes on in middle of the dash screen and goes right off. The engine continues to warm up and no issues. The instructions in manual tells us it does the opposite, it reads The light will come on the go off and then vehicle will start. Idk but that is definitely not how it works, unless the little glow plug curly wire light is what they are saying, and the big warning on dash is just letting me know it’s still warming up. Any advice or knowledge on this..

My experience has been the same during a handful of cold mornings.

I’ve put the ignition in “run” and have seen no indicator, then it will start and display the message like you stated.

My old 12 valve Cummins had a wait to start light once you switched the ignition to “run” that you’d wait to turn off before cranking her away. I would imagine these modern diesels have all sorts of sensors and computers and with the push button not being mechanical, it probably already did its thing before it even let the motor crank.

To be honest, I never checked any of the warning lights.
Just press the button and am glad that every light is switching off after a short while.

But the coldest temperature my Gladiator has seen so far during start up was 30 °F.

This is why I just do remote start when it's cold. Times everything (glow plugs, etc) for you.
