My Ram Ecodiesel had a much larger engine compartment and the front cover seemed to make a difference. I'm driving the JT ecodiesel and it seems to have much better heat up for some reason (no cover). I use my driveway to the gate (5 minute drive) as the comparison. Jeep is heating much faster. Just my truck to Jeep comparison. Not sure how many people actually have had both side to side.
Similar experience right now in MI. Car idles for 5-10min and gets up to 40C oil temp (100F or so), with this cold weather out. Driving, it gets to 75C/175F fairly quickly, within 3 miles or so of open road.
I had other cars and none could get to temp in such short time.

I was worried I might need one of these [IMHO unattractive] front end covers…

But after a drive the other day to rescue a friend stuck in the snow at -5F (-20C) the heat was coming out of the side window defrost vent so hot that I could only hold my hand in front of the blowing air for no more than 2 seconds without melting skin!

This was while driving initially at 30mph (48kph) and then shortly after at 55mph (88kph) with no reduction in heat output.

I’m overly impressed with this Diesel engine‘s ability to produce heat in sub-zero temps!

I fix stuff Firefighter brake . . . and they brake everything.
Old post but good info, it's currently -36C here and it looks like it for the rest of the week. I ordered the front cover. I drove for 40min last night and my temp gauge never got to above 1/4 on the gauge. warm air from the heater but not much, glad to have had the heated seats.
Thanks for the info
