Does anyone know if there would be a negative side effect for running the mopar lift lower control arms with the aev geo bracket that comes in their lift? I’m interested in the aev kit but already have the mopar lower control arms on.

That's a darned fine question, I have the Mopar lfit LCA's as well. I was just trying to get a handle on towing with the AEV kit, very relevant!

I believe that you can-- I ran the AEV geo correction brackets on a JK with the MOPAR 2" lift in the past...

I have the rancho geo brackets (kind of wish I went AEV and will probably make the switch) and started with MOPAR lift LCAs. I had too much caster (7.3*) with that combo and decided to switch back to stock LCAs to get that back in check (6.2*)

This is a good data point. How much difference is there between the Rancho and aev In Regards to caster?

I don't know the difference between rancho and aev brackets regarding caster, as I said I have only had the rancho geo brackets and switched the LCAs. Too much caster with the extended MOPAR LCAs and just right using the stock length LCAs.

The AEV brackets utilize cam bolts while the rancho brackets use different bolt holes for the amount of lift you are running.

You can run both just keep an eye on your caster. With the mopar lift and aev brackets, id guess you could set the aev brackets to the lowest lift setting and see where that puts you.

Thinking about getting the AEV Dualsport 2.5" lift to replace my Mopar lift and have this same question since the AEV comes with the brackets and I have the longer LCAs found in the Mopar kit.

It sounds like you can run both the longer Mopar lift LCAs and the AEV brackets - is there any more feedback from anyone who's done this successfully?

I'm going to sell my Mopar lift after the switch, so trying to figure out if I'd be better off buying different control arms for my JT or keeping the Mopar lift ones and discounting my Mopar lift since whoever buys it will need to supply their own LCAs.

It all depends on where your caster angle ends up.

Yes, most aftermarket control arms are a bit beefier though I haven't seen any factory CA failures in the 2 years+ I've been into this stuff (and yet I've heard of bushing failures in a couple aftermarket versions,) this probably wouldn't matter in 99% of installations.

I'm confident that (unless stated) aftermarket relocation brackets have already factored in the additional caster with using factory control arms.

I ran a three and a half inch lift with fixed Skyjacker control arms for over a year, then switched to Teraflex relocation brackets made for 3 and 1/2 to 4 in lift, but I went up to 6" so purchased the Mopar 2 inch lift lower control arms and the results appear just fine.
If I had any wandering in the front end I would have put the Skyjacker control arms back in to add more caster angle and plant the front tires a little more.
You want decent ride quality in your steering without overdoing it.
In your case, if the AEV relocation brackets are for a two and a half inch lift, and you are using two and a half inch springs, unless it calls for otherwise you might very well want to start with factory length lower control arms. If your Jeep tends to wander with those, you may want adjustables that accommodate zero lift, or use the 2-in lift Mopar lower control arms.

I have the Mopar lift and bought the JKS correction brackets. The JKS called for the re-use of the stock LCA. Just an FYI.

BTW. The correction brackets may have made about a 5-10% improvement in driving and seat of the pants comfort. Worth it when you have c0-pilot that needs a little more comfort than I do.

Have Fun, Wrench Safe!
