So looks like one of the retaining/fastening loops on my soft rolling cover just let go:

Anyone know where I can get a replacement, or has anyone here made an alternative? I'm honestly not sure if it provides any type of support for the rest of the cover, just seems like a retaining strap.

Have you talked to Benny here, a MOPAR parts person and forum sponsor, to see if that part is even sold separately?
Otherwise, webbing like that can be bought generically, I'm sure. While in Korea, one of their markets had rolls of stuff like that, all sizes, even the sort used for seat belts, sold by the meter.

Thanks for the reply.

Haven't talked to Benny, so I'll go ahead and reach out to him. Do you have anything like this that I can use to save my bed cover Benny? @AllMoparParts.com

As for the cover, I definitely noticed that the cover is flapping in the wind much more harshly on that side now, so the strap seems to also keep the reinforcement bars in place. Might need to drill out the rivet on that side and replace/patch the existing strap with some similar material and place a new rivet in. I really like the soft cover and I don't quite want to part ways with it yet, especially for such a small break.

Im not seeing this as an available component but just to be sure is the factory order cover or the Mopar accessory add on?

Mine just did the same exact thing. Even on the same side.
Did you ever find out a good fix for this?
thanks in advance. ??

I had started looking into fixing this, but then I saw someone selling a Bakflip MK4 tonneau cover for $500 on Facebook a week later, so I just ended up replacing it. I ended up giving away my old soft rolling cover to @TxRubi, he said he wanted to repair and use them.

You might be able to reach out to him for help on that end.

Why don't you get a Bestop EZ-Roll? New under $500. Since Bestop is an OEM supplier for Jeep, the material on Mopar tonneau is the same as black twill Bestop EZ-Roll or even EZ-Fold. If you have a Sunrider, the material will be a perfect match.

Not a fan of the velcro style tonneau covers, I can never get them to roll on evenly. Plus my plan had always been to switch to a hard style tonneau cover. I was just trying to get the most out of the soft cover and was lucky enough to find the exact cover that I had wanted to replace it locally, for half price, basically brand new.

I just cut that strap off, does not seem to have made any difference other than making it a little more difficult to roll up even but not bad. When the straps that hold the tonneau when rolled up finally rot away. What I did with mine after breaking was to get some velcro strapping and measured how much I needed to go from the top of the tonneau looped to hold the buckle from the old strap to the mounting bolt for the tonneau to around the rolled tonneau and through the buckle like the factory did. Easier to do both sides at the same time, hardest part was cutting a hole in the strapping for the bolt to go through.
