Not a good start of the week… blown a valve cover gasket, and washed O2 sensor in oil. At only 7k miles it will be covered under warranty, but this makes me worried long term. I usually keep my cars no longer than 5 years and sell them well before 100k miles mark. Is this only the start of Jeep experience? I’m looking into Mopar warranty, could not find any pricing information. What are your experiences?

Lol had a Cherokee trailhawk with 3.6l when they just came out. No issues what so ever till my wife decided to drive over a small sedan…
I bet the Cherokee won that battle at least lol. Jeeps are certainly the most abusive relationship anyone could be in but your issue was a fluke I'm sure. I wouldn't be worried so long as the engine wasn't oil starved during your issue. Most you may need in your timeframe is accessory stuff like water pump .

This is a know issue. Don’t worry too much just be glad you saw it before it lead to a misfire just are sure they replace the sensor too to prevent a future misfire

Sorry to hear that. I've put 39k on my '20 JT Overland and no issues (knocking on the nearest real wood I can find). I broke it in for the first 1k and then took a couple of 3k mile trips. I do a lot of highway driving - about 500 miles/week.

Most Jeeps have no major issues.
The worst with mine was the steering thing. It's resolved. Otherwise only minor things and all have been resolved by the dealer.
No misfires, engine runs great, electrically it's fine, no leaks, no squeaks, no pings, no leaks, it just plain works.

We've also owned Grand Cherokees since the late 1990s and have had only minor issues with those save for bad batteries in one and the spark plug misfire in another. Otherwise, nothing major at all.
My wife won't even consider anything but Jeep when she trades her Grand Cherokees.

Are they still looking for a white paint mark or whatever it was on valve covers in their research on this?

So they “do”, but it’s basically irrelevant. We are going to fix what’s broken

My thinking is that they were trying to track down the problem....... yeah, I know dealers will step up and fix what's broken and this is indeed a warranty thing.
I was just seeing it as Jeep doing research like maybe tracking down the source of the issue based on batch or source of the parts.
Even inspection marks could point to the specific plant or line something came from. So it seemed maybe they were tracking exactly where and when the bad covers came from.

2 days in the shop just got the truck back. It actually was a cracked valve cover not the gasket as initially diagnosed. The problem coincided with first below freezing day of the season, makes me think there was a hairline fracture in the material. Due to the drastic temp change it just gave up, must be my bad luck?

My experience is you can't count on the warranty for anything if you have modified your jeep at all....Even if the dealer did the work...My frame broke and they are not covering it.. See my post with pictures of the frame tear...

I just put a Mopar Max Care warranty on the JT through the dealership. He beat the Ziegler price by almost $100. You can price plans on this website. Quote Process : ChryslerFactoryPlans.com There is a Lift fee if it has a Mopar lift up to 4", but it's covered too.

I also put one on my Ram a few months after I bought it. I like that it's a Mopar factory warranty.

Smart thing to get the Mopar brand lift and have them install it.... Otherwise Jeep will deny your warranty.. ASk me how I know...LOL

...Oh .. and forget about any help from Jeep cares....They will just give you the phone number of another dealer and wash their hands of you...Ask me how I know that...LOL...again
