Earnhardt in Chandler, AZ has 2 right now. 5K mark up. I told them about this forum as well.

Someone retarded will buy it marked up. There not the only dealer to do it so I wasn't suprised at that too much but the rest has me flabbergasted

I purchased a JT Rubicon at invoice from a local dealer. I test drove it. He asked if i liked it enough to buy it. I said yes. I said i doubted he would like what i was willing to pay enough to sell it. He asked what i would pay. I mentioned the 5-7% below invoice orders that can be had, and said i was a patient person and willing to order, but that if he would sell at invoice, i might buy now. He went to talk to manager yada yada. Came back with offer over MSRP. I said sorry, and that i don't blame him for selling for more than MSRP if he can, but i'm not THAT crazy (I felt crazy willing to pay 60k for a midsize truck as it was). We shook hands, all smiles, no animosity. I walked out the door. Was halfway across parking lot and he ran out and grabbed me and said they would sell at invoice. No lame fees. The dealer game thrives on information asymmetry. When buyers are informed, they don't know what to do. The smart ones sell at a good price. The not so smart ones get mad and lose customers.

These dealerships act like it's a limited run vehicle, I test drove 3 weeks ago and they were asking 1K over MSRP, told me every dealer is doing it, it's still on their lot. When I test drive it, they had the only one within 100 miles, now there are literally over 100. I'm having dealership hate at the moment too.

It's a buying frenzy and the absolute WORST time to deal. Brand new model, incredible hype, beginning to middle of the month.

You buy at the end of the month, model year, end of the year when they try to make quota. With this model though RIGHT NOW, that doesn't matter.

I wouldn't even talk to a salesman at a dealership that tacked on "market adjustment fees" other than to say "you aren't getting that from me!"

Everybody needs to remember this happens in Capitalism. It's supply and demand. Simple economics lost on the average American these days. Jack up enough people, you go out of business due to word of mouth. Treat people fairly, you do well.

They are assholes, agreed. But they aren't scalping water during a hurricane. @ 65K, they aren't ripping off poor people. No one is forcing anyone to buy it. Soon enough there will be tons of these around. So many people are too impatient.

Just tell them you'll drive or fly out of state if you have to and buy from a reputable dealer.

Supply and demand. He’s right, it’ll be gone this weekend. Ain’t nothing wrong selling ADM if they can get it. I nearly bought a Hellcat that way. Instead, I waited and found a seller wanting out, only 400 miles on the odometer. They took the hit and I paid $10k under MSRP. Patience is profitable.

Since being on this, and the JL forum, I’ve saved $18k. Be glad we’re all here sharing and pity the poor shlub who walks into that mine field tomorrow after he buys it and signs on here to realize he paid too much!

Some months ago I went to a Rick Hendrick Honda dealership to check out a new Passport. And while there I could not help but notice that every single new car on the lot had a second sticker on it like this one. I told the lady that if I was to buy that car that had literally just gotten off of the delivery truck then I would not want them to put any of that crap on the car. The sales lady tried to tell me that they “had to” put all of that junk on the car since it had already been ordered for that car. And not only that but I would have to pay full MSRP plus the additional sticker. I immediately left and told the sales lady that she just lost a sale. Got the impression that she could care less.

And take a look at just one item on that sticker, $200.00 for 4 lock nuts, that’s $50.00 per lock but. You can get them from Autozone for $13.00

Nitrogen: Give me a break. They just pump the tires up with normal air to give them the proper air pressure.

Earlier this week I saw 2 Gladiators at a Rick Hendrick dealership and before you could say Jack Rabbit they had already slapped such a second price sticker on these Gladiators. And no they did not try to tack on an ADM fee on these 2 trucks.

Oh and many ask what ADM stands for. Simple answer: profit.

LOL. $250 fee to get the other 21% of nitrogen that isn't already naturally occurring in the air. These dealers must think people are fools.

I'm so glad I'm in with this family on the gladiator forums. Probably would be one of those suckers that pay over but this website has made me see the light!

Jake, one of those should have been a Sport priced at $46000, as I was told! Not me. I’ll wait
