I'd recommend buying a complete kit vs. piecing it together from various sources. Otherwise, sounds like a sound plan. We tend to use Metalcloak, but I have considered trying Icon Vehicle Dynamics next just for a change of pace.

Just to ask, she has the Max tow, will you two do any towing? IF you do I would caution a double think on leveling the front out. The rake is there for towing.

That being said, I would clearly defer to any that are more knowledgeable (which may or may not be saying anything).

Mine is my daily driver and I’ve done some blm roads and camping. I have the BDS 2” leveling kit and run 35’s and I don’t have any rub. Maybe down the road I’ll lift it more, but for now, for the money and my uses this is perfect.

All Sport's have a noticeable rake. The Max Tow doesn't have any additional rake compared to any other Sport (I have a Sport/Max Tow). But - the rear springs are rated noticeably different. Even with a level kit up front and my bed / rack fully loaded for a trip my truck sits level - so, your payload capacity comes largely from the different rate of the rear springs and not it's ability to squat further before sitting rear low.

But anyway - because I specifically ordered a Max Tow I'm reluctant to change out the suspension anyway. I bought it for it's weight carrying capacity and its drive quality, and a stock height Gladiator on 33's has done all the wheeling I need so far (oh - I also wanted 4.10s without buying a Rubicon / Mojave). My pockets aren't deep enough to look cool for the sake of it :CWL:

Amen to all that. I have a Sport S with tow package. A little concerned with adding a leveling kit... I don't tow too much weight but if I need to I want to be able to.

Is your recommendation for a complete kit based on support from the kit manufacturer? I thought about that as a potential issue.
I haven't looked at Metalcloak or Icon, since I have considered them to be more hard core offroad equipment than she really needs. Might be worth taking a look though.

Thanks for that input. The most it will tow is an aluminum boat. Maybe 2K lbs loaded and 200 lbs tongue weight. That's if she let's me drive it to the camp! :)

I sure hear you on the not-so-deep pockets. We generally wanted the Max Tow so that it could run larger tires and pull our aluminum boat without working it as hard. We were lucky enough to find two on the lot in Bossier, La. Which isn't too far from us. With the incentives and low interest rate offered in Louisiana for July, we couldn't pass it up.

I have an F250 that I use to tow our camper or other heavy loads, but I agree, I wouldn't want to compromise the tow capacity of the Max tow package. I wouldn't think adding a 2 or 2.5" front level and possibly an 3/4" rear puck would cause any major issues, but Im not up to speed on the suspension on these trucks. The Teraflex package I mentioned in the first post includes a rear puck but I'm not sure if it is 1/2" or 3/4" like the Daystars.

It's just nice to have one source for customer support, or if you need parts. Metalcloak would be found on a lot of hard-core rigs, but it just means it's quality. That's just an example though. In keeping with your theme - the Teraflex spacer lift would maintain the load carrying quality of your Jeep, and I'd just get Teraflex track bars and adjustable lower front control arms (for reasons above). The adjustable lower control arms will allow an alignment shop to really fine tune the caster angle if necessary vs being stuck at one setting. I hear Bilstein 5100's are highly recommended for shocks though I have no experience with them.

I ran this kit, but the JK version on my previous Wrangler. I added their Rocksport shocks. It rode similar to the way my Max Tow JT does now.

My truck with a 1.5" Teraflex spacer up front. Not too bad.
