I just don't get why my MPG is so sh*tty. Mine on average is 13mpg and I don't think I have seen 15mpg. I am on 37s with 5.13 gears. Could something be wrong or most likely, I am the issue.

So no, that's an internet "guess" that's very wrong as far as more ethanol. Typically it's butane and some other tricks, but not ethanol.
You had to get all *scientific* on me…but I agree… I pulled that outta my ass.

But still….there is a difference between winter gas and summer gas that affects gas mileage. I’ve seen it on every vehicle I’ve owned.

I wonder if increased rolling resistance, heavier rolling mass, increased drag matter, or maybe it's just u!

The gas is part of it for sure, but so is the season. I can pull better mpg out of my 4.0 when the air is really humid and about 50 degrees. Same gas.
I note a difference of about 1 on my jt which is more tightly controlled engine-wise and that almost fits the 1.7 percent estimate the chemists expect.

Also corrected the ethanol bit because lurkers and others repeat what they see. If it's repeated enough, it becomes internet fact no matter how wrong or right it is. I saw it on the internet, it must be true. ;-)

You can always count on Bill to come up with a sarcastic response. It wouldn't feel right without it. ;)

I am not expecting 20mpg with a bigger tire and wheel combo. I am thinking whether average of 12.5mpg with bigger tire and wheels factoring 5.13 gearing make sense. But as you said, it's most likely me.

I just checked mine again today. Around town and 85 octane gas 23 mpg. All Highway 26 plus !!. I love my Jeep but if I got 12 it would be history. I get that mileage and I am not Grand Pa driving. I know the elevation helps but geez !!

If I stripped mine back down, I'd pull over 20 something MPG's, towing I've dropped down to 13.5 or something a little higher. Not towing but loaded up 16-20 MPG's. Normally around 17.7 MPG's better if I stay under 69 mph or at 55. In my local "city" driving I'd be in 20s. But mine is loaded up and hauling gear, RTT, and what not. I'm debating on pulling the RTT off.
I do think the full belly skid plates cuts drag some.
