My 2020 w/ factory Air dams. Still have 3 chips in my windshield. They will stop the small amount that come from your tires however, not gonna stop them all.

Which Gladiators got the air dams? I can't say I have ever noticed one with them installed.

My 2020 Base Max Tow had them installed until I removed them. They made a difference as far as Mpg's go, I dropped almost 1 mpg after removing them. They help keep the air from getting up inside the fenders and causing lag.

Mine is a 2020 Sport S, not max tow. Jeep deleted them in the early or mid '21 models I believe. Someone else will correct me if I'm wrong.

I wonder if that happened when Jeep decided all JTs would get the same "plastic bumper" instead of having two different types - base bumper and then the type that Overland and Rubicon and others got.
Those only appear to fit the base bumper, not the bumpers as used on Overland, etc.
Since max tow had a wider stance, like Rubicon, for example, max tow wouldn't have gotten them in any case.
Likely they found it cheaper to cut down the number of bumpers and give a slightly more expensive bumper to all models, including base sport, than to have multiple variations.

My Max Tow had them on it but it is a Base Model Max Tow so that may be why mine ended up with them. Either way I think they stopped mid 2021 putting them on all together.

Thank you Guys for all the reply’s . The first chip I got at a few hundred miles from new was on a side street going maybe 30 mph with no other vehicles around. Bang, hit hard but no crack. I went to Walmart and bought repair kit and filled. Some people said if not cracked the kit wouldn’t do much Or stay. I filled it and polished a little and can barely see it unless in direct sunlight and looking for it. After doing repair in my driveway I happened to look down at drivers front tire and I saw lots of rocks stuck in tire and remembered I had turned around in friends gravel driveway the day before.

Hmm since mud terrain tires have much larger gaps between lugs to not "lift" pebbles/rocks off the ground, wonder if that would help with the self-impact rock throwing/issue. I may lean towards M/T vs A/T tires next swap.

My MT Falkens and MT BF Gs do throw rocks real good also, some are just bigger... and that is not always better XP

I have the all weather highway street tires on my overland and they hold rocks worst then any tire I’ve Seen. I have only 2000 miles on them so won’t change any time soon. I believe M/T and A/T are better then mine.

I have been tempted to mount a set of single-row LED lights in that gap, as I don't like the look of cube lights up by the windshield.

It may be a decent alternative option to making a filler plate while still getting rock protection from the wheel well.

These are my updated versions. So far it seems to be working, especially with all the chat (small stones) Colorado‘s been using on the roads this winter. Time will tell. I’m praying it works !!

I know for a fact I've hit my own windshield more that once. Both times I was hauling up a gravel road with my lonesome and both times it felt like Mariano Rivera in his prime himself threw that sucker right at my face. It only cracked the glass the first time though.

Rock chip hitting the windshield sometimes uses the same physics laws as Keith Hernandez loogie hitting Newman.
