Need help - inner fenders

Ok, I put the jcr inner fenders on the front today. In the video it does not say anything about the factory liners to go back in and trim them or anything. I will call them tomorrow and get more information but has anyone put aftermarket inner fenders on with factory fenders and put the factory liner back in? Check out images as it doesn’t seem right to leave all this exposed.

From what I've see that's it. I do not understand the fascination with putting those in. If the factory inners are to flimsy a few zip ties fixes that...and mud washes right the heck off of them. Mud/crud already gets places that are hard to get it...can't understand wanting to give it more crevices. Now if you are trying to fit 40s on there with 2" of lift...then yea...I guess I could see doing that.

Why would you want to put the stock ones back in? Completely ruins the point of aftermarket ones.

@Pizziola29 thanks for posting the detailed photos and please let us know what JCR has to say. I have some Ace liners to install myself and those big spaces in the stock flare look like they would fill with mud that wouldn't have a way out. That exposed wiring run is not great either, would at least put split-loom around that if leaving all the stock liners out.

It should be possible to leave a portion of the stock plastic liner in place as long as it is secured. It seems inner fender liners are more applicable to those doing aftermarket fenders that can't take the stock plastic liner. I just picked mine up since I thought they would improve the appearance with all the wheel-well showing with my lift. And also the rumblings of issues with the stock flimsy liners sucking into the wheels at speed.

Or, OR, you can pull the inner liner off the fenders and run them as hi line fenders a la Hurricane concept with an American Adventure Lab LED replacement fender light. Just saying.

Ok update. Added the factory back after trimming. MUCH better!

But you would still have the same issues the OP is having, right? I'm genuinely asking because I plan on running the high light fenders like AAL or Quake with Ace fender liners or something. But wouldn't you still have the exposed section? Or by doing the LED fenders, this better organizes and removes the exposed portions?

No sorry needed @spazzyfry123 This is how we get to the bottom of things with everyone inputting etc. I think the LED fenders better organizes and helps with exposed pieces.
