I just got a new takeoff Mopar 68334758AA receiver hitch without instructions or bolts.

So, to anyone has installed the Mopar receiver hitch, could you...

1. Photograph or scan the instructions, and
2. Make a list of the required nuts and bolts, including the hardware grade and sizes, and anything else needed to mount this hitch.

I have read that the instructions do not include a hardware list.

Thanks,

I'd use the hardest grade of bolt I could get.

Also, remember since your truck seems to not have come with the factory tow package, your towing capacity is going to be limited to the 4,000 lbs as stated in your owners manual. You don't have the higher output alternator or the increased cooling capacity given by the enhanced cooling fan set up.

If you like a visual of what is involved, there is a couple Youtube videos showing the install.

I do have the 220A alternator that comes with the upgraded stereo, vs. the 240 that comes with the tow package vs. the 180A(?) that is the stock size alternator.

I have a late 2023 diesel Rubicon. I don't know if all the conversations talking about upgraded cooling fans apply to the diesels. If I ever run into the diesel hi temperature derating issue I might upgrade the cooling system in the future. I haven't read a lot about the derating problem lately.

I am probably fine with limiting towing to 4000 pounds. If I can, with minor upgrades improve that, great. This truck will still have the legal towing limit per the rating Jeep gave it.

All that being said, I mostly wanted the receiver hitch to mount my receiver hitch mounted bike rack.

You are fine to tow 6000lbs.

I just removed my factory non-receiver yesterday and replaced with the Mopar Class IV receiver. The bolts that attached that to the frame appeared to be the exact same ones that came with my new receiver. I managed to lose one of the shorter ones and needed to reuse 1 of them.

If doing it yourself, I suggest propping up the new receiver on a 5-gallon bucket to lift it into place while you set the first side bolts. It was kind of a pain in the ass when I did it yesterday. You also need a heavy duty torque wrench to set the bolts to spec.

That is the exact same reason I wanted the hitch! At least I'm not the only one on here that has a truck but wanted a bike rack, LOL.

I added a Mopar class IV receiver to my Mojave which gave me a tow rating of 6000lbs.

No aux switches, although I wanted them. But if you get the upgraded 8.4 inch stereo, which all Rubicons got in 2023, you get at least the 220A alternator. And the build sheet says 220A too.

If it's a non-towing package truck it's not rated to 6,000lbs even with the Mopar hitch. You also have to have the towing package cooling fan and 240amp alternator. Can it physically do it? I'm sure it can. But if anything bad happened while towing and insurance found out about it, you'd be in a real bad spot.
