Hey all,
First off I really like they way they look and they installed easily. But.... the issues came at night. I followed the aiming directions and started with the three screws flush with the bracket.
Took my family to dinner in daylight hoping to admire the lights on the drive home. When we got out it was dark. I turned on the lights and the lowbeams were so high noone flashed me because they were above their heads and up in the trees. So I drove to a dark wall behind the building and did the 25ft measurements and taped a line on the wall. My lights were feet above the line. So I removed the top of the grill and tried adjusting the lights. Pulled the bottom screws all the way in and the top one is almost falling out. Still above people's heads and now in their faces.
Get home much to the distress of all the oncoming cars...
So if the adjustment is maxxed I decide to shim the bracket to the frame. Shimmed the top two holes to the frame by about 3/8 of an inch and that helped alot but could use more.
As I am buttoning things up I hear two very loud pops in order. The nuts welded to the bracket give up and tear off one
Maybe tomorrow I'll drill out the brackets , rattlecan the mess and bolt it up with new stronger hardware.
I am very happy with the looks, and the light output (for what was on the road) but a little sad it didn't just work for the price.
Anyone else have similar experiences?
Oh yah,
Artec skids, front Artec nighthawk bumper w/ HF winch, rear Artec wrap bumper with hitch.
Lietner rack nothing on it. One 37in MT baja boss spare in bed. Metal cloak 3.5 GC lift. That's the heavy stuff that might change beam angle.
