The skid plate I bought (online from a dealer) came only with the skid plate. I went to another site to buy the bracket "kit" which was the bolts, rivnuts and brackets.
I didn't have to buy anything to install the bumper at all - only the bracket/bolt/nut kit for the skid plate.
I bought the kit from justforjeeps dot com

Did you use the Mopae hex rivnuts? If you did do you remember the torque spec? I recall a torque spec of around 20 and have not been comfortable with this since the install.

SkidPlate Installation instructions.

Looks like 40ft lbs. for the rivnut bolts. Way less to crush the rivnuts and 20 to mount the skid plate.

You may have to go back and use the german torque spec. Gutendheit

That sounds about right. I had to modify the brackets a bit anyway since I have a front receiver. It seems like an eternity since I did all that!

Thanks for the specs! I will need to get back under there and check the torque.

Got my bumper and skidplate on without too much trouble today.

First issue was the aftermarket led fog light connector to the factory harness. The pins didnt line up exactly so i had to straighten the pins a little and finally got it.

The factory fog light harness I got didnt really line up with many of the holes to put the clips in. Maybe i messed it up (i have no idea how it is actually supposed to routed) but i think the harness for the steel bumper must be different. I could get a couple to work in the holes under the bumper mount bolts close to the fogs. But functionally it was fine and the leds that came with the bumper are bright.

Skid plate was a non issue. I had the rivnuts in the kit they were easy to install. Only thing I didnt have were nuts for the bolts to hold the skid to the bumper. I went and bought a few 8mm flange nuts.

The amazon bumper had no instructions and a ton of extra stuff and bags of bolts. I didn’t use the winch plate or the grill guard. It also had fog light rings for usibg stock lights i think. I was surprised it had a flip up plate mount as well. Using that for now.

But all and all pretty easy to install. I bought new bumper cover things so I didnt have the pdc holes. I got an original mopar and a crown i think. The crown was much built than the stock one.

I have one of the knock offs. Where the removable end cap is secured has started to corrode along the seam. no biggy, some rust treatment will fix. other than that holding up ok.

@tommyp , did you have to use the longer bolts to attach the bumper, or did the stock ones work for you?

I also have a bunch of leftover nuts and bolts.

I couldn't figure out how the fog light harness mounted either. I waited until I installed the bumper then ran it where I could. Some of the clips lined up with the bumper holes others I just zip tied.

i just used the bolts that came with the bumper that go through the tow hook. I think they were a little shorter than the ones on the plastic bumper and the threads were different. But they worked fine. They are only going through like 3/8” or so of bracket on the end of the frame.

Weird, mine were too short. Although I had the winch plate thickness, then had to add a 1/4" thick plate in the same spot so the winch would fit. Maybe that made the difference.

Yea I could possibly see it being sorta close. There were washers on mine that i think i will ditch when I add the winch and winch plate. I still think there should be enough bolt to work.

did your skid plate bolt up ok? Or did you use one?

I have a Rubicon with the steel plate. Once I went to re-install, I realized I posted some bad info earlier. I had 2 angled brackets that bolt to the frame. Just had 2 screws on each side of skid plate that screwed into the angled brackets. No bolts across the front that attached to the original plastic bumper. The skid plate was hitting the bottom of the steel bumper, had to oval out one of the screw holes on each side to get it to re-attach

man im really thinking about buying the badlands winch i was given a 200 day backorder estimate for the want zeon 12 s, and do i feel like waiting that long.......hell no lol

only reason i want the badlands winch is #1 the price

#2 seen 2 guys with 100k + rock bouncers with those winches and 1 of the guys said as long as you got a soild mount for the winch youll be fine since he said the winches dont take flex very well apparently ?

and reason 3 its my only real option for a winch that ive seen been used alot without breaking, funny enough the only brands ive seen break the most is smittybilt and then warn with their vr series but not the new badlands winches, they dont fail to impress me when i go with my buddies every now and then

Yea I am thinking badlands apex 12k or the zeak 13k maybe. The zeak is $200 cheaper than the badlands and doesnt seem to have bad reviews. But who knows the good reviews are probably bought and paid for.

The badlands are pretty proven winches and on sale for $550 with a coupon till the 20th.
