I had never heard anyone call it "Willis" Until I left the northeast
Its "willeese" up here
Check out some of the original marketing videos from the 40s and 50s.
People see a word, assume, others follow, even if it's possibly wrong.
hey, a dealer called it that so it must be right.

I wont be surprised if they announce that 4XE very soon.
There is absolutely zero real world indication that a 4xe is on the way.

No camouflaged, grainy photos. No indication from the company.
The only indication we’ve gotten is a statement from Jim Morrison in a TrailRecon video, and Morrison is now retired. Oh, and a confirmation from a UAW manager (why a UAW manager is making announcements about a publicly traded companies timeline is beyond me) that Toledo South was “retooling” last summer for 4xe… which wasn’t true.

Ford had pictures of the Bronco prototypes a year before the Bronco was announced. We saw the Wrangler 4xe mules 9 months before release.

A couple months ago I got a survey asking what sort of changes I’d like to see on the gladiator. One of the questions asked if I’d like the old school wagoneer style fascia on it.

I’ve literally been saying it for years… there is not going to be a 4xe Gladiator in the current form.

I gotta ask because a fellow from WI had no idea what we were talking about when we said "accident at east mixmaster" or "heavy traffic west mixmaster".
I gotta see if you easterners are familiar with that one.

Nh is one of the states where independence was born.

Other than ZF announcing a new transmission with a motor capable of greater range and more torque and HP - to be used in Gladiator...

It's where major interstates converge and diverge. On the east side I35, I80, and I235 all mix it up. Major traffic headaches many decades ago for a state like Iowa, mostly rural back then, led to the term. Not sure if it originated with truckers or radio people here. The interchanges were also poorly designed back then.

Well, I (fingers crossed) have been proven wrong. There is allegedly a mule or two that have been driving around Colorado and out west. I hope I'm wrong. I really do.

And yes, I knew that Transmission was launched, but that is such a widely used transmission that I was skeptical that it was anything more than just a new option for any number of higher power vehicles.

There's also a Jeep employee here who mentioned things falling into place at the plant.

Maybe @Jrgunn5150 can shed some light on this.

Yes and another member thought he had seen a test mule. My dealer is gearing up spending hundreds of thousands on equipment and training (and charging equipment.
The Stellantis plan is to sneak into ev with hybrids, not more gas

No firm date, but this one actually exists, tooling, suppliers, etc. It was also on the schedule for last fall, and didn't happen, so I suspect sales are a driver.

Increasing 4XE range to something meaningful is a high priority.

The latest from ZF is supposed to do just that - increase range AND power and torque. Impressive numbers.
IF the upcoming 4xe was available this spring, I'd have likely gone for a test drive and looked it over well because I'm very interested......... but after spending what I did on a Mojave X and all the mods to deal with, not likely for a while.
Yes, I probably would have bought one after having our JLU 4xe for a while now and being very impressed by it. Perfect? No. Great for ALL Jeep owners? Heck no. But for some - yes, just right.

I'd bet a 4XE Gladiator would be the fix for the poor towing experience for the people who do tow.

I do wonder about that. I've heard folks overheating their trannies on long mountain climbs offroad using 4H. Sounds like the remedy is to use 4 lo due to the clutch packs in the DCT based transmission not fully locking up causing the heat. Wonder if the same result could happen when heavy towing.
