New LOCKPICK for the UConnect UAQ 8.4 Navi...

If you already have a tazer they sell another dongle that allows you to have an HDMI input to the 8.4 already. My current plan is to use that plus a switcher (HDMI or Component) to add a camera or two and an AppleTV.

ETA - so to that point, I don't see the need for a Lockpick. Unless I'm missing something.

What is a Tazer? I assume it adds an A/V interface to the stock head unit? That is the point of the lockpick for my purposes.

The Alpine head unit I have in mine has an HDMI input and 2 camera inputs, plus a few other things.

For what Lockpick is asking for, I'd expect a hell of a lot more than what they're saying on the website.

I assume your Alpine is aftermarket? Personally, I'm not trying to lose all of the numerous stock functions integrated into the stock head unit...

It unlocks a lot of functions on the JL/JT platform. Most basic application for people is to change tire size or gear ratio. Can do lots of other things from permanently disabling stop/start to enabling turn-assist that's tighter than can be achieved with the Bronco, apparently. The company offers a way to add inputs to the 8.4 head unit though an additional dongle.

Yes, my Alpine is aftermarket. I have the ilx-407 and got it before Alpine 'restyled' it and included adapters to work with the OEM camera. You can read about it at Crutchfield, link below.
