Codes for UConnect 7 and 8.4 upgraded Radios

I'm going to ask a question because I've been looking for over an hour and I can't find clear answers. Where does one get the unlock code for their own radio? Do you have to contact a dealer. I Just purchased an 8.4 and it has the unlock code, I have a 7 inch- where is the code?

From my research, my understanding is (and I have a 7" to sell):
1) The code request appears when there's a VIN mismatch between head end and vehicle
2) The codes can be purchased on E-bay for typically <US$20
3) It's a 4 digit code, so worst case 1,1,1,1 1,1,1,2 1,1,1,3.....

Your local Jeep dealership service department should be able to get you the number for free if they are not douches. If they want to charge you, go to ebay like previously mention or google it to find a service that will get you the PIN number.

Most of the Ebay and other 3rd party services that get you the PIN are usually dealership techs that are doing a side hustle of offering the service using the dealership systems to get the info.

I just took mu 8.4" to the dealer and showed them I owned it before i sold it.
