Good afternoon everyone. New member, first post, and first Jeep! My apologies for the ignorance early on, I searched and searched, but didn't find a "new member section". If I missed, can you please move, thank you in advance!

The wife and I purchased a 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk and a 2020 Gladiator Sport S respectively over memorial day weekend. I have been a Nissan sports car enthusiast since I was 16yo. I have owned a 90 240sx, a 93 240sx, 93 300zx, 03 Infiniti G35, and most recently an 11 G37X.

So this is a big step out of my comfort zone but I am excited to learn and try new things! I'm 6'4", so I'm finally glad to be out of a small car and behind the wheel of a car with head room for once! Glad to be a part of the forum and looking to get involved!

Welcome!

There aren’t too many Sport S’ out yet so we’d love to hear your comments on it.
BTW I had a ā€˜90 240SX and hated to sell it but we had our first son and needed 4 doors..

Welcome! You're one of, if not the first Sport S owner i've seen on here. I hope to join you in about a month's time with a Pre-Spec sport S.
What mods do you plan to do to your jeep? Are you planning to go muddin, rock crawling, camping/overlanding?

Welcome to the Jeep community! Like @steffen707 said you must be the first with a sport s to come forward and that's exciting. I will be getting a pre spec sport s as well in the near future hopefully. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing what options you have on your JT and what your plans are for it? Thank you for the pictures and welcome to the forum.

I'd really like to read your feedback in regards to comfort level at 6'4". I'm also 6'4" and seat comfort is a concern of mine. Most vehicles that cost as much as the gladiator or just wrangler in general offer an electric adjustable seat base that allows you to tip the front of the seat bottom up to adjust the legs a little better. The wrangler not offering this is a concern of mine and is one thing thats keeping me from taking the jump Look forward to your feedback.

Thank you all for the warm welcome, to answer a few questions:

I think I got the Sport S on sheer dumb luck....kind of. Again, I'm in a greater metro area, so while most options were either the Overland or Rubicon, there were a handful of Sport S's in the area. By the time i went to go buy, i think this was the last one in the immediate area of the suburbs. But happy none the less.

Automatic transition, tow package, trailer hitch, Freedom Hardtop, are the big ones i can remember off the top of my head.

Do WeatherTech mats count as an upgrade? :) But I'm waiting for aftermarket side steps and a truck bed cover of some kind. I want to get to know the basics first before i fo anything crazy

Tall guys, I can fit even comfortably in the back seat! Head room not an issue anywhere int he cabin!

First reviews, I love it! I'm not a stranger to trucks (dad has always owned one) but the first thing i noticed is how i dont feel like I'm driving a HUGE car! I'm in control, but i also don't feel like I'm taking up 2 lanes.

It is my daily driver, but a lot of my friends have jeeps or trucks and go overland/off road frequently. And i go camping/hiking regularly with my son and friends.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Anything counts as an upgrade. Did you buy weathertech mats? heard the JL front mats work.

For bed cover head over to the mega-thread on tops, https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...cks-possibilities-for-gladiator-show-me.8707/ you got a lot of reading to do. lol

I too picked up a Sport S and am pretty happy so far.Ive had mine about a week and still getting used to how much smaller it is compared to the Tundra 4x4 I traded in.But the Gladiator drives great and the gas mileage is great compared to the Tundra.
