So, I ran across what I believe is a really good deal on a 2021 Rubicon in Snazzberry. It's pretty well loaded with both safety groups, leather, cold weather group, LED Group, tow package, color matched hard top, bed liner, roll up tonneau and the Alpine premium audio. It's a CPO with the 84 month/100000 mile Mopar extended warranty and it has 3900 miles on it. Listed at $49270.

My other choice is a 2023 Rubicon, Hydro Blue that only has the cold weather group and the tow package and is $50513 which includes $6000 all available incentives.

My wife really likes both Snazzberry and the Blue but really likes the Blue better. It's going to be the primary vehicle for us. She is unreceptive to any other colors.

If it was just my decision, I would be on the CPO like white on rice, momma is worried about the 2021 being a used vehicle.

What y'all think?

With 3900 miles on a 2021 it's practically new and why are we even having this conversation. Tell the little woman you're going with the 2021 and that's final.

Hopefully she has a sense of humor and you have a comfortable couch.

$6000 in "available incentives" isn't a very large discount considering the amount of gladiators filling up lots right now. I wouldn't buy a new gladiator at this moment for less than 10k off sticker.

That in mind, would another 4k convince you to go new, or do you prefer the 2021 still? 3900 miles is nothing, and odds are someone sold it because they were offered a stupid trade in value on it. (i myself sold my willys after 6 months, and it wasn't because i didn't like it, i just saw the opportunity to sell for more than I paid and turn those profits into a mojave)

The new one is $59K sticker so there is about a $3K dealer discount in addition to the incentives. What I don't know is if the dealer discount is dependent on dealer financing. My bank has better rates than most dealers right now.

Snazzberry for the win! That's the color I really wanted but they dropped it before I placed my order, so I ended up with Gobi. If the warranty checks out and it hasn't been heavily modified in any way I'd go for the 2021. Sounds like the biggest difference is ~4k miles (not many at all) and the warranty of a brand new vehicle which is a moot point considering the Mopar extended warranty that comes with the CPO. Pics once you get it PLEASE! I love Snazzberry.

My mistake, i took "6k in incentives" as 3k in mnfr incentives and 3k in delaer incentives. I was seeing gladiators advertised at 10k under MSRP with only 3k in mnfr rebates included in the puzzle.

For the 2023, is the $50500 the actual price or will the then try to add in freight like Stellantis dealers tend to do, which might change the equation slightly? But I was in the same boat when I bought mine and I ended up going used because I could get all the options I wanted for far less than if I had gone new even with the discounts and incentives.

Not a problem, I should have been clearer.

Actual price including freight but not including the add on crap like doc fee, etc.

I'm really leaning twards the used Rubi. I'm not crazy about the color matched top but that is anything but a deal breaker.

You know how it works. You’re paying for warranty and finance guy’s boat with new and used gives you a discount for less warranty. Prices have been dropping in the used market, making new less of a bargain I guess. Also, 2024 is a month or two away

Right.

I'm going to go drive the used Rubi and if all goes well, I will be buying it. It has the Mopar extended warranty 84 months/100K miles, which we all know has been included in the price. It could be mine today if all goes well. It just makes way more sense than buying new.

Yea don’t take any wooden nickels extended warranty wise. Mopar or not they’re usually not worth much, practically or intentionally. Once the factory warranty runs out you’re usually in the clear till 100k anyway. And they’re quite restricted on what they’ll do anyway. A 75000 mile anything has “wear item” written all over it.
