Hey everyone,

We've had quite a few people ask if we'd ever make a lower version of our Jeep EZ-Steps®, especially after releasing the Drop Down version for the Bronco. After a lot of development and testing, they're finally here.

The new IAG Drop Down EZ-Step® Add-on is designed for 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL 4-Door and 2020+ Jeep Gladiator JT models equipped with factory OEM rock rails.

If you've got a lifted Jeep, younger kids, shorter passengers, or just want an easier way to get in and out, these provide a much more comfortable stepping height while still keeping good ground clearance.

Compared to our original Jeep EZ-Steps®, the Drop Down version sits:
  • 5" below the top of the factory rock rail
  • 11" below the door sill
  • Features an 18.5" wide anti-slip stepping surface
The nice part is they still remove in just a few minutes if you're heading out on a trail where you want every bit of clearance you can get.

They're built from TIG-welded mandrel-bent steel tubing with heavy-duty steel brackets and an aluminum anti-skid step plate, then powder coated for durability. Like the rest of our fabricated products, they're built here at our shop in Westminster, Maryland.

Installation is pretty straightforward:

  • No drilling or cutting
  • Bolts directly to OEM rock rails
  • Adjustable positioning

One fun feature is that the IAG logo plate is interchangeable, so you can pick the accent color that best matches your Jeep.

Available colors:

  • Red
  • Mojave Orange
  • Blue
  • Black
  • Raw Stainless
  • Neon Yellow
  • Teal
  • Pink
  • White

Fitment
Fits:

  • 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL 4-Door
  • 2020+ Jeep Gladiator JT
Requires factory OEM rock rails.

They do not fit Mopar rock rails or most aftermarket rock rail systems.

We think these turned out really well and should be a great option for anyone who's been wanting a little easier access without committing to full-length running boards.

As always, we're happy to answer any questions about fitment, installation, or anything else. We'd also love to hear what you guys think!

I have the regular steps and like them, but I really wish you would release the running boards like you have for the Bronco.

Just me, but don’t these kind of steps on a lifted jeep defeat the purpose of a lifted jeep as they hang down to snag on obstacles you are trying to slide over with rock rails, so if you need these to access your jeep maybe save some money and don’t lift it. But I guess if you only mall crawl you’ll probably can clear the curbs.

I believe the design intent here is that they're easy to remove. I know a lot of folks that use their Jeeps to wheel legit but the rest of the time they're just daily drivers and have to be 'easy' to use.

My truck has the plastic running boards on it right now because I have to live with it daily. My rock rails are in storage. They'll go on the week before I leave for Moab, and they'll get swapped back the week after so my step kids and short ole lady with a bum ankle and my AARP age mother can get in easier.

I did the same thing with my two door JK, and it spent a lot of time in the rocks for a Louisiana Jeep. Rock rails on trips, grandpa boards back home...

They don’t appear to hang below the frame rails, so depending on the type of wheeling you do, they wouldn’t have much impact on ground clearance. Not everyone drags sliders every time they go out.

I can comment on the original non-drop version that I have on my JTR. The come straight off of the rails and they only take a couple of fasteners each to remove. So I run them to save my seat bolsters and if I ever decide to rash up my rock rails, I can pull the steps while I air down at the trailhead.

I went this route because I wasn’t sure what type of rails/slidersI will eventually end up with. I need a running boards type that will take the abuse. These will likely be easy to recondition and sell when I upgrade, not to mention easier to ship. 😂
