New tires/wheels TPMS help?

Morning,

I just picked up an ordered on March 12th. Mojave on Friday. Arrived Thursday (less than 100 miles from Toledo).

Yesterday (Saturday), installed new tires and wheels at 88 miles on the Jeep. Packing information said they shipped at 36 lbs. air pressure and I admittedly didn’t check.

After a short drive into town and back,, turning into the neighborhood (14 miles total), the TPMS went off, telling me “unavailable” and such on screen.

Purchased tires/wheels from a popular/reputable company and assume all should have just been OK.

I won’t get into the minor fact that they just seem to be unable in sending me the correct valve stem caps. Hah!

Anyhow… insight/thoughts/advice?

Other note!!

The manual’s torque specs for the OEM 22mm lug nuts is 130 ft/lbs. I cannot imagine the 19mm lug nuts provided with purchase should be torqued the same?!?

Check witch tpms sensors they used, they had a change recently and there are two different types used on the JT. My guess would be they used the older version and your JT has the most recent frequency ones. Torque should be the same, the threads are the same size just the lug size is different, I stuck with the oem as I preferred the larger lug size.
Wheels and tires look great btw.

Might check and see if they even moved the sensors over from original wheels. if so they should work. I have pretty much torqued wheel lugs to 135lbs for all my vehicles.

I ordered the tire/wheel package online/over the phone. They come mounted, balanced, etc. I swapped the original and new myself…

Yep if after 3 days they didn’t reset the wrong ones were used. I got the same mounted and balance. Type deal from discount tire, they used the wrong ones in mine. They offered me a refund on the sensors and I just turned it off via Tazer. No biggie for me tbh.

If they actually put sensors in Mac may be right, they changed sensors in june of 21 and they may have used old sensor.

Following around here (on forum), I knew you’d chime in with just that. Hah! Thank you and I could not agree more. However, I will use the stock (base) wheels during winter weather.

As others have said probably old style TPMS sensor. If the sensors they used use the factory style valve stem it's actually not very hard to break the bead and swap the sensors out of your stock wheels and seeing you only have to break the "outer" bead no balancing needed.

Has anyone figured out the TPMS issue yet? I have an Oct 21 JTRD with 4.5" Evo lift, Dirty Life Beadlocks, 38X13.5 Patagonias and Apex Valve Stems. I have the OEM TPMS out of the original tires/wheels. All four corners scan just fine with a TPMS scanner. I've tried re-initializing them with the scanner which the scanner said was successful.

From day one with the new setup I got no reading to the computer. I've had it in the dealer twice and they couldn't find the problem. Said they needed the OEM wheels and tires with OEM sensors to be able to work the issue. I've sold the takeoffs so that's not an option. I've turned off the TPMS with my tazer but would really like the horn honk feature for airing down.

anyone knows when in '21 they changed the TPMS sensors? I changed to a set of take offs for winters from another '21 Mojave and the TPMS doesn't work. I assume if they did change something on the TPMS there's nothing i can do.

I looked here a little although I can’t find it I recall it was (build date) June 21 when frequencies were changed on the sensors.

When I ordered Mopar TPMS for my ‘22, the dealer wanted my VIN to verify the build date. As detailed above, they should have reached out to you to get your VIN to make sure that you were getting the right sensors.
