Did some youtubing and googling...really liking those Baja ATs. Probably looking at Feb/Mar before I can buy tires so plenty of time to look around more. Thanks.

Really not pleased with OE Falken MTs.....barely gonna get 30k out of them and they are getting louder and louder every day. I realize being Jeep and all...and being MTs....but lately its kinda crazy how loud they have gotten. I did everything I was suppose to to do with keeping up with balance and rotations. :(
For what it’s worth, I really like the OE falken AT’s. I’ll be selling 5 next month if anyone is interested. Been very happy with them on wet roads, and snow/ice.

Rubicon's can indeed run 35s no lift. They can even run 37s with the right off set and ~1 inch lift with bump stop

I went with the Cooper Evolution MT in 35x12.50. The price was good and they only weighed 3 more lbs than my factory tires. Almost every other 35 I looked at was 10 or more lbs heavier. Happy with them so far.

With you having a rubicon you could probably get away with just a spacer lift up front and 35s.
Don’t need a lift to run 35’s on a Rubicon. Did a black diamond on 35’s with no lift. Had skid plates dragging. Still did the trail.

I had nittos ridge grapplers. Really loved the tire but definitely the same thing of being louder the more they wore.

No need for spacers for 35x12.5 or 315/70/17s on a Rubicon. No rub, even disconnected. Some 35s are slightly larger than others, though. In general, plenty of people are running this size with no issues whatsoever.

Kenda Klever 35x10.5x17 got a set a few months ago really impressed so far, way better than I expected at the price point.
So I gotta ask, have you driven a Jeep with 35x12.5? I hate the feeling of the wide tires and how it pulls the vehicle all over the road, I’m VERY interested in these tires, but I don’t want to spend the money just to have them drive just as poorly

I have run 285/70/17, 285/75/17 and the 35x10.5x17 on my JT, can’t really notice any difference in tracking and handling between the 3 sizes, on my previous JKU I ran 35x12.5x17s and didn’t like the way they handled and followed grooves on the highway, I also found they floated more in rain and snow. I prefer narrower tires, IMO they handle better, perform better in rain and snow, and less wear and tear on the steering components. I have run them on stock wheels and AEV wheels which are +25 offset and 1ā€ wider than stock so they don’t extend beyond the fenders which I prefer.

In almost 40 years of driving trucks cars and Jeeps, I haven’t had a tire that didn’t get louder as the tread wore down. Not only do many of the tires have a different compound of rubber as it wears down, the tread flexibility gets stiffer. Not to mention irregular wear patterns that cause odd pitch/harmonics. Simply put…tires get louder as they wear. This is normal.

Oh I super agree with you but my tires went from quiet down the road to howling like they were mud terrains at no tread left. I have a sunrider and I couldn’t hear my radio at 25… now I can have my radio at 12 and hear myself think.

I miss my old BFG mud terrains. They came with a free back and butt massager when you pulled up to a stop sign?

This is basically exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you!

I did a little research in the Kenda brand of tires. The company was founded in Taiwan in 1962 producing bicycle tires. 6 factories have been created in China with other proliferation throughout the world. Sorry, in light of global economical issues, I can’t knowingly and intentionally support those economies when there are American companies making similar items of greater quality.

Okay, probably shouldn’t own a Jeep either as they are not an American company.
