Only other experience with diesels is with the Superdutys I've had. Can the 3.0 be tuned and EGR/DEF deleted while leaving egr unit in tact? Looking at a 3.0, and absolutely do not want to deal with piss in a jug or regen. Have been researching tuners, and have noted a few from reviews on here, GDE, MR (stay away from EOC).
Really want to know if i can tune and delete DEF without removing the EGR bc after a few videos, it looks like a major PITA! Let me know pros and cons, thanks!

This has been answered in other threads. Not sure your reason for staying away from EOC as they seem to be the best for tuning or that is what everyone has stated in other threads.

Yes, have searched quite a bit, and haven't found a direct answer to my question yet, so thought I'd ask while I keep combing threads.
As for EOC, just read quite a few comments about staying away from them for customer service concerns, and they use MR tune anyway. Again, zero experience with them, just going by member comments I've seen (and it was quite a few).

That thread answers your questions. Yes, those can be turned off while leaving EGR in place and just turning it off. I know EOC can do it. Not sure on the other tuners. With EOC you would need a Stage 2 tune with a new exhaust system from my understanding. That is my plan for mine. Someone who has done can probably chime in but from my research and that is my understanding.

Eoc tunes are just MR tunes. They are just a middle man. So getting tune adjusted takes time, because they have to send it to MR. Just cutting out the middle man. As for the EGR, yeah the upper and lower EGR removal is alot of work. That being said, every other oil change I would check it for leaks.

Leaving egr on one of my superduties likely saved my truck from burning to the ground. I blew an injector out due to faulty retaining clip, and the injector hit the egr that was still in place, even though unfunctional, and kept the injector from going through my hood and squirting fuel all over the engine.

I’ve been running EOC’s tune and delete for 60,000 kms now. Works great, don’t know why people are saying to stay away. The only thing I can say is they do take a little long to respond to emails but they did respond every time and help with any questions I had. I’d recommend them

You could block off up pipe after exhaust work and leave it all intact.

It sure cleans up engine compartment with EGR and EGR cooler gone though.
