How bad was it rubbing the wires without cutting the carpet? I have the same option, but would like to no trim the carpet. Thanks
Hey, I will do some more test fitting but in my prototyping and test fitting of the final mount I did not see an issue with the wiring and no carpet cutting was required. I personally don't want to cut the carpet or others to do so, so I will look at this again. I would think some zip ties on the wires under the seat would fix any low-hanging wires but will check to make sure.

I'll try to get some photos and post them. Cutting the carpet was not an issue for me as you can't see any of the carpet with the compressor installed. I'll take a closer look at adding some wire ties to the electrical wires and see how that goes also.

Great product, I'm interested to hear if anyone is running the power lines just under the carpet to the interior AUX line access? this would make the install incredibly fast.

Thinking about getting this as part of my "spring updates". You might want to mention some seats use different bolts; I needed an E12 Torx socket when I put seat risers in. Only thing that makes me hesitant is running the wires.

Should work easy if running the wires under the plastics by the door.

Just as info, there are factory grounding lugs under the carpet on either side of the center console, next to the inner-rear front seat bolt (if that makes sense). I used them when grounding my amps, and they work perfect.

I did some more test fitting today with our '22 JLU. It should be just like my JT. I have Goose Gear seat deletes in the JT so I use the JLU for testing. This is how it looks under the seat for comparison to see how it looks for you guys. The closest cable is approx 1/4" from the top of the black shield on the compressor. I have the outlet fitting rotated to the lower position. There were 3 different wires but none seemed too close to the compressor. We have the heated seats so it should be the seat with the most wiring. I have not cut the carpet. Let me know if any of your setups look different. I will start including a few small cable ties in case others may have some wires that they want to pull up out of the way some. One thing I did not test is if the seat flexes when someone is sitting in the seat. I will test that tomorrow.

Hi folks, here are my latest thoughs...
1. I was able to get adequate clearance under the seat after replacing the T I had at the compressor outlet with an elbow. This allowed me to pre-install the elbow with the compressor top housing removed and clock the fitting to a much lower height. I also have the carpet trimmed (see photo) which saves perhaps 1/8 to 1/4 inch in height of the compressor. Compressor is permanent so I wasn't concerned about doing this while I am concerned about a hot compressor outlet line melting wires under the seat.
2. There is a very convenient floor plug under the seat for running the air line and electrical. Very easy to run out the plug, along the frame and up to the battery. I connected the compressor relay wire to the Aux 3 wire that lives right beside the battery. The ARB harness is the perfect length for this. See photo for how I repurposed the black ground wire bundled with the power wires so I only had to run the cable from the big ARB connector to the battery (purple wire goes to the relay).
3. Slightly off of this topic but might be of interest to some. I used some cut to length hose clamps and some 1/4" SS bolts (heads cut off) to mount a 1 gal tank under the bed using some existing holes in the body. Not show are some 3d printed cradles that fit between the round tank and the flat surface of the body to stabilize the tank. Location is between the muffler (cat?) and fuel tank (I have a diesel so perhaps the gas version is different?). Also, as the compressor is oilless I added some oil to the air tank to coat the inside and help prevent rust. (pics with source posted separately as I wasn't sure this was OK)

Figuring I would eventually wind up putting a compressor under the passenger seat (and Wife complaining that the seat's not high enough!), I got some seat spacers from Ohio Diesel Parts. I think the sixty bucks might make this the cheapest mod I've done so far!

@813 Fabrication & Design - First, thanks for supporting this community and being so active here. It is appreciated.

I have a diesel Rubicon JT and want onboard air, but don't really want it mounted on the inside. I think we talked once about mounting the system above the spare tire, but being out in the elements makes it maybe not an ideal location. I think we could figure out an semi-enclosed mounting bracket that could protect the system.

Another location that I am considering on the ceiling of my Rebel Off Road XPLOR Bed Rack up towards the cab. I am putting the rear door on the rack already making it almost like a topper or shell. I also already have a ceiling or roof mounted although I eventually want to improve on it. Do you have an existing mount or one I could modify that I could mount up there towards the cab? I can order another crossbar from the middle support to the back if necessary.

Maybe you could design a generic mount for mounting the compressor on the ceiling of existing shells like the ARE, Alu, etc..

Thanks!

Will this guy work with it?

It's got a 40A inline fuse so I could easily use an Aux switch for it making things easy. What are guys using the air tanks for? Armorlite floor too so that may be an issue.

Thanks! I try to be as active as possible! The main thing you need to consider with the compressor is keep the air filters dry. According to ARB you can submerge the compressor as long as you have remote/sealing air for the intake. The medium enclosure I have will mount on most flat surfaces, especially a rail where the two rivnuts that hold the cover can sit into a groove. I have several customers with other brand trucks that have it mounted in the bed. I am working with ViAir on creating some mounts also and hope to have some options for those. They are the same, as long as you keep the filters dry you can mount the compressor almost anywhere. They have a few options now that do not require a secondary tank, so it should make them a little more popular with the Jeep crowd.
