Bought a gladiator Rubicon on Saturday. Got a check engine light on Sunday?. Seems to be somehow related to auto start stop as that is not working properly. Hopefully my dealership takes care of me quickly. Traded in a Ram with 0 issues so I hope this isn't a common reoccurrence

Not happy with the church engine light staying on. It works sometimes even with the mil on, sometimes doesn't

The, “Church engine light,” and the MIL are the same thing.

That would be why I used the terms interchangably

Looks like otto correct or smell chick is taking over.........

Bought a gladiator Rubicon on Saturday. Got a check engine light on Sunday?. Send to be sunrise talked to auto start stop as that is not working properly.
Scroll down using the steering wheel controls and you can find info on the ESS (auto stop/start) likely with a new truck the battery simply isn't charged yet. When they sit a while, or when brand new, that part is to be expected.
The Malfunction Indicator Light ( MIL) isn't to be expected.
You can learn a lot by checking the various cluster displays - it shows about ESS, you can see engine temp, transmission temp, system voltage, and more.

Now if I can figure out what "send to be sunrise talked to......." is I might have more.

Not necessarily related. Could be totally unrelated. An aux battery not charged up can cause the ESS to not work. You can tell why it's not working from the cluster display. Scroll with the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel.
There are a dozen reasons the ESS may not be working and none related to the MIL.
Not that it's absolutely not related, but dozens of us have had that not work either for battery not charged issues, battery failures, sensor issues, etc. even HVAC settings can impact that function.
It MAY be related, but I'd check the cluster display to see if it's as simple as a battery charging.

Went by the dealership today. Code was for EGR circuit high. I think it was p0406, they didn't give me any paperwork. They reset it and told me to come back if it comes back on. 2 hours later, engine light back on

I see it's a 2021.
If it was a 2020, there's a PCM flash for EGR issues among other things.

Got the truck back. They replaced an EGR sensor. Hopefully that is all and no more issues.
