What model year do you think we will see a redesigned Gladiator? Just planning ahead. Do you think it will be a total redesign?

I think it would be more of an evolution than a redesign.Like the Corvette-people want change but not so much that it would not resemble a traditional Jeep. There is a fine line designers have to follow to keep everyone happy.

IIRC at launch in 2019, FCA/Jeep engineers and project managers had said something like over 80% of the principle engineering and testing was gleamed from the Wrangler JL development and from the RAM truck division that the rear end suspension is based off of. In relative terms, it was cheap for them to bring the Gladiator to market and would never had made it had it been a clean sheet design.

I would think any future redesign for the Gladiator and decisions to produce it will be based on whenever the next Wrangler design debuts. I think 2028 is when the next iteration of the Wrangler will be rolled out. Unless sales numbers increase currently for the Gladiator, I can see it possibly not making it into a next generation release.

2028 seems right. 10years per wrangler generation is average. Jk was 12 years. So I could see it going to 2030

I dont think either needs a clean sheet redesign.

The big need is better air flow but the restriction of the iconic slot grill really impeded that.

Each gen gets bigger. I love the Jt as it's about the size of a full size truck from my youth. I dont know how much bigger it could get. 2 inches longer and I would have to go back to a wrangler as the JT would no longer be garagable for me.

Truck needs more powerful engine options. I dont think we will get a turbo due to cooling issues ( towing is a JT thing not a wrangler thing) v8 would be great but I dont see that happening.

Eventually we will get a redesign but what will it bring. The massive upgrade from jk to jl was the transmission. I could have been happy with a Jk based JT If it had the 8 speed. So I would guess for a lot of us the next JT will be meh because the big need is more tq. I dont see that coming. Jeep has nothing leaked about an upcoming na v6 with a lot more tq than the old penta

Man I honestly think the Gladiator is perfect. That's why I got one. I love the way they look. I love that they do Jeep things but also truck things. My needs are pretty mild so I'm not bumping up against it's limitations like some others might. I wanted a truck that can do Jeep things and they're just different enough from the usual Ford/Chevy/Dodge boring bullshit.
