There is still the fill/level check plug on the steel cover. Not a big deal if you use the OEM cover with the reusable gasket. I have the Teraflex covers and they are a RTV only situation with no drain plug on the cover. So that means I either use a fluid vac to remove or I have to break the RTV seal and reseal anytime I service it in the future.

It is a first world problem, but the drain plug was nice to have.
I wish these had a seal like AMC used on the model 20 differentials - a big square-cut o-ring went into a recess in the housing and the cover sealed against it. Rarely ever leaked or seeped.

The cast iron Dana diff covers that I put on. Came with a tube of RTV. I just reused the oem gaskets. No need for the RTV.

The oem diff covers do have a fill/check hole. My 2/17 build axles do not have a drain plug. No machine marks, no nothing.
